I'm in. Got a lot of play out of the first edition.

Pledged for two reasons…. 1) It's Disposable Heroes. 2) It's Lon.

I have pledged, I have really enjoyed the game over the years.

I pledged for a fine hardback 2nd edition with new improved rules from Keith. Looking forward to it! It is my favorite WWII rule set for the past 12 years or so.

Disposable Heroes has definitely earned its chops over the years. Great to see it is getting a new edition!

Thanks guys! I posted the first update to demonstrate a little about the new version of the rules. I will be taking you through several Activations in a turn to show off some of the new ideas and the basic mechanics. I hope you enjoy! Each update will reveal a little more about the rules.

Glad to see this game coming back! I was just looking over my Marco Polo Bridge scenario that I made for the first set.

Good luck!

Thanks everyone.

We are at 75% in less than the first day so please help spread the word. We are working on a bunch of other rewards should we meet funding and start breaking some stretch goals.

But how can the perfect rules set be improved?

ItinerantHobbyist29 Nov 2016 2:26 p.m. PST

BG,
I know it's tough to keep up with all the sites – I left this question on FB as well:
How will the old army books port to the new rules when the weapons have an additional stat line and also you're adding the additional stat for armies?

I like that you're close to publishing so the waitbwont be long.

And I really appreciate you providing the example game. Can you provide a picture of the entire battlefield?

And (questions keep popping up as I'm about to hit send.) do you always get 5 deployment dice or is that based on the number of troops you have? Can multiple units come on one dice? What are the dice sitting next to the pregame troops?

Pizzagrenadier29 Nov 2016 3:33 p.m. PST

Itinerant:

The old army books will be an easy port. The new stat for weapons are simple enough and just replace the old ROF (the way firing functions is different though). The new T&E stat is just added to the platoon and doesn't interfere with the old lists. I could put together a short how to for porting over if that is something players would find useful. Basically, players can still use the old army book to make their lists. The vehicles port over without any changes.

Unfortunately, the pic I took of the overall battlefield didn't come out and I didn't notice until I got home! I will be doing other battle reports though (and a video), as well as an all tank battle in 6mm.

In the scenarios provided in the book, there are always five deployment points. They are based on areas of tactical signifigance, not on how many units a player has. The limit on units that come on per deployment points is two (so a full squad of two sections would be able to deploy from one point). Also, the units can deploy up to 6" away from a deployment point (just not past it), so that helps maintain the uncertainty for opposing players and gives the deploying unit some options.

The dice on the units is the deployment point chosen by the player.

Hope that helps!

Keith

And…backed. Still not sure about some of the rule changes a, but I'm excited to see the team adapting what they've learned over the last 14 yrs.

I was never really interested in DH before, but the new systems sounds very interesting :) Backed. (also because the production looks top notch, and I like shiny things…)

PentexRX802 Dec 2016 12:23 p.m. PST

DH2 appears to be exactly what I have been looking for since last year. I like the mixture of "real tactics," original DH and games like Infinity. I am excited.
