Hi all I have added another cavalry regiment The Dragoons of the Royal Guard, tab down the page on my blog.

Take a look:

Lovely work Paxx! I especially like your command stand Trumpter and officer. Beautiful.

So again you have been brilliant in adapting a well known unit, into something different, with a "simple" paint job.

I'd have dismissed these as just more Dragons de La Garde Imperiale….but hope I would finally notice the troopers'/officers' lace/aigulettes and the shabraque edging in white or silver, not aurore or gold.

Eventually….and then wondered who these were in that case!

wow those are NICE!

OK…I will praise you and then give you a hard time.

Let us face it, that is why some of us post here. Because we can take, indeed even welcome, the flak.

The Dragoons' outfit seems flawless, heck what did I know about Italian Guard Dragoons until tonight, when I saw your's?

But not a Chestnut horse amongst them? All Bay horses?

"What is the difference?" I hear you all cry. A; (Clue anyway) Check the tails and manes……

Why do your Front Rank figures always look so good?

I want to love them. I today sprayed a white undercoat on a bunch of late Carabiniers……and am reminded how good the casting is. The detail stands out even more. But I will not digress into their proportions, especially in cavalry figures. In your hands they look brilliant. I had seriously planned to bin them. Seriously

Funny deadhead, I thought the same thing when I looked.
However, I will give benefit of a doubt in that Paxx may be mortal like the rest of us, painting on a roll, watching TV/video while painting, sipping on wine or beer so that our painting mind get slightly foggy.

Front Rank are one of my favorites as well.

Well he certainly is prolific. I really must get back to work (actually the snag is the opposite…I need some time at home)

Front Rank……….. the one carabineer I will use, the wounded figure, I undercoated him in white over weekend. Only now do I see just how well cast he is.

Thanks for your feedback..

Colour of the horse are a little artistic licence but I have seen these types on two diffrent horse type colour charts, granted they are painted images not photographs.

May be a little to much Led zepplin when painting :)
