Finally done, my first 10 Ultramarines finished! Not strictly GW approved colours but hey I'm more than happy with them!

The bases are hopefully dramatic enough for these little fellas. I've included a bit more about them on my blog so if you fancy drop on over and check it out

So thanks for looking

Not GW-approved colors? Look damn fine to me.

I swear, it seems like GW thinks they still own the figs/rules/hobby stuff on some level even after you've bought it.

Those are quite nice, thanks for sharing them.

They look great to me, just hope my very old metal Space Orks come out half as good.

Not GW-approved colours, you claim? But what are those I see in the background:

Aha! :D

Any paints you buy from GW are instantly GW approved (by their accounting department).

Approved or not, you've done these chaps credit. Ultras can be a bit of a yawn to paint, so well done on trying a different approach palette-wise.

I think GW only feature their own miniatures, decals, paints, etc in their publications and on-line content for a not entirely unreasonable purpose: They're trying to sell them! But I've never seen anyone thrown out of a GW store for using non-GW paints or glues. I've heard of over-zealous tournament-organisers barring the use of non-GW models, but never witnessed it.

GW are certainly protective of their IP, I'll grant you. You won't see Marines painted in flower-power motifs winning any Golden Demon Awards anytime soon. (Pity really, I'd like to see that…)

As for my Marine Blood Bowl team, well…

Thanks for all the positive feedback guys its all very much appreciated

MacrossMartin, I went for a lighter blue than recommended. I think it should of being mcragg blue I went for Altdorf blue instead! I know some people won't approve but I think the colours worked out well. I did only mean it as a bit of fun.
