…About Future Conflicts. "If you've ever wanted to be the next H.G. Wells, this is your chance. Army Training and Doctrine Command is hosting its inaugural Mad Scientist Science Fiction Writing Contest, according to a TRADOC press release. The topic for the competition is "Warfare in 2030 to 2050." Be warned, Armand ! This could have unexpected consequences. Remember the movie "Three Days of the Condor" with Max van Sydow and Robert Redford ? link (;-)) |

I've read some indie books about middle east conflicts. It would be awesome to read some well thought out and realistic books about what near future conflicts would be like. We already have the magnetic repulsor gun(?) and those rays that drive people crazy. If there was an all out war of desperation and rules were thrown out the window I wonder what next generation stuff would be carted out. I hope some good researchers try to predict how things would turn out. Maybe see a finished version of stuff being worked on now. And what would the enemy have. Who would the antagonists be? |
