What might these Bronze Age peoples look like? They were respected for their fighting qualities by the Hittites & might prove a useful addition to my Trojan army if I can figure out their appearance & if anyone makes figures in any approximation of their look. |

Check out "sea People" some think they were displaced and later over run the Nile delta and Levent. |

Redoubt has a beautiful range of 28mm Trojan War. The figures they call Lukka have the Philistine headdress of either stiffened upright reeds or a brass equivalent. If one equates the Lukka with the Lycians, you get Sarpedon as a hero. Redoubt makes a very nice Sarpedon in Lukka regalia fighting from a chariot. Worked for me. link link Edit. I forgot Glaucus. He's Lukka also. |

Stiffened reed? More likely, stiffened leather ends arising from a woven leather cap? |

Ochoin, It seems the Lukka were the delta dwelling pirates from the south of the Hittite lands. They also seem to be hired out as mercenaries to the various states that surrounded the Levant. I use the Sea People's peleset (in the reed headdress or whatever) from OG15s. I know that you're into 1/72 and the Caesar Philistines are what you need to look at to represent the Lukka and what great figures they are too. You might also want to see if you can find some of the Caesar chariots running around, as indications are they used them as well. Sarpedon is described in the 'Illiad' as wearing a 'shiny' helmet, while it seems Glaucus wore the reed 'helmet'. They were well-known for their ferocity and would help offset the ferocity of Achilles and his 'ants'. |
