I have an Swedish army of Pat Condray's "Editions Brokaw" figures, which aren't available. At his untimely and tragic death, I am kind of stuck. I need more figures of the same 'true' 15mm size, but I don't know what figure manufactures do that.

Peter Pig makes some AWi Hessians that could work, but the line is very restrictive and no cavalry.

Those were indeed Editions Brokaw figures. Pat had not been selling them for some time. Jim Brokaw came on here a few months ago to say he was not going to attend any more shows a a vendor. I don't recall if he said whether he intends to continue production of the line. I'll try to find the thread.

I always liked those figures. Maybe someone has contact information?

EDIT: Found it. The thread is about his 10mm ironclad range, but he did give his email address:

Good luck.

QRF sell the Freikorps ranges, which I believe are true 15's.

The old Mini Figs are true 15s but I don't know if they cover the period. Dixons might work.

Pat had not been selling them for some time.

Well, yes, in general, but he has sold some to me in the recent past. He was my source.

BUT, thank you for the link to Jim B. hopefully, that should do it.

I have some Friecorps, which I like, but they don't match up well to the Brokaw figures.

Rudysnelson25 Nov 2016 10:03 p.m. PST

True 15s, Frontier makes AmRev and SYW. Gallic was small. I can name a number but the question is who is still in business.

The one he lists on the other thread is different from the one on the Manufacturer list. I don't know which is current. Maybe both. I'd looked for one before, with no luck. Of course I was looking for "Editions Brokaw"--wouldn't have thought to look for "Brokaw,Jim".

Do the manufacturers determine how they're listed? Or should I start checking things like "Glory, Old"?

Hallmark are small and perhaps might work, though I don't know EB miniatures.

Henry Martini26 Nov 2016 3:10 p.m. PST

If this is for WSS both Dixon and Hallmark should be compatible.

Everyone, I appreciate the help.

QRF sells Freikorp 15mm figures which are 15mm because otherwise they wouldn't be 15mm figures. They are not 'true 15mm', they are just 15mm. Other manufacturers may sell figures that are not 15mm. In fact I would suggest that 18mm figures are actually small 20mm figures, and not 15mm figures at all.

Yes Geoff, nicely put. The 18/19mm size may well become 20mm as time goes by??

Lucky those chaps don't do fitted kitchens!!! " you said your kitchen is 3m long. I have made a 4m worktop and it does not seem to fit?"

McLaddie,

I have some of the EB GNW figures that I would be willing to let go of for a small price.

Email me at: jestarnes66@gmail.com

I'll provide you with a list and you can tell me if you're interested.

I'd say Dixon and Essex work as well. I've looked and I believe Musket Minis would work for Swedes. You could also use Miniature Figurines as another poster has suggested.

Dixon and Hallmark work well with EB. I have lots of both in my armies.

Henry Martini29 Nov 2016 3:25 p.m. PST

Despite being height-compatible the Dixon figures are chubby chappies. Hallmark's range is more slender, so should be the best match in both dimensions.

Swampking:

Thank you for the offer, but I am looking for SYW figures, preferable Prussian, but any large number would work.

I have a load unpainted AB/old glory figures, all Russian SYW that I would be willing to trade figure for figure, if you have an army-sized amount of EB, Dixon, Hallmark or others of comparable size.

IowaGuy15 Jan 2017 2:27 p.m. PST

I, too, prefer the 15mm size over the 18mm figure. I have found both Minifig and Freikorp to be compatible. Some Dixon WSS may be used as well. Essex are a bit largish but I use some of their general figures.

The challenge is the Editions Brokaw were very small even for 15 mm (true or otherwise) so I'd suggest something a little different – look for larger 10 mm figures (Irregular maybe?) and see how they compare. I suspect you will have more luck traveling that road.

Though I agree Hallmark would be a good match – if they are readily available these days – but no SYW that I recall. Dixon and Essex not so much, Musket Minis maybe but I don't know if they have any availability since Musket Minis closed shop (unless reopened somewhere?) and same with the long, long gone Frontier range of figures – which would be too big for EB by quite a measure.

And 18 mm are very definitely NOT 20 mm, not even the largest of them I've encountered (and I've more than just about anyone I've heard of, 15 and 18 mm that is – including LOTS of Peter Pig and Freikorp (both too big for EB, by the way))

EB were easy figures to get painted and on the table, though. Best of luck.
