I have been using some toy tanks and trucks from Diinky, Matchbox, Corgi and Lledo. There are some images and scale calculations on my blog: link |

You can occasionally find a set of "pull back" moving toy tanks in dollar stores and other places. There are only two models, an undersized M1 Abrams and a Panzer IV with turret Schurzen. The detail is approximative, but they are a good match for most Warlord/Rubicon models. Simply screw them open, remove the mechanism and wheels, the tracks are rubber and can easily be removed for repainting. With a bit of care and some extra stowage the Panzer IV is perfectly useful.

I have seen pictures of the PzIV 'pull back'. Does the maker put a brand on the pack? I should loved to track some down. |

gbowen, I have one of the above P4s if you're interested. There has been some paint added. I also have 2 P38t of a similar vein (pre-assembled and painted-both are turret number 525!) $10 USD each plus a couple bucks for shipping. I noticed you don't have PM: jfsudek@yahoo.com |
