Meanwhile, as our story in Melinarth the Dead was progressing (in the Qurosh'g Saga), greater events were accomplished in the empire, which spelled a permanent end to the fragile and brief peace.

"Afterword": Heh, the writer's hubris. I've spent the last week, as is my modus operandi, returning to this blog page to reread and edit. I know all about the dictum, "the writer/author does not edit his own work." I violate it constantly and perennially. Hubris, as I say, is my particular weakness as an editor: I still believe that I can catch, if not all, at least the most important, errors in my wordsmithing. No doubt I've missed some or even many obvious ones. But this morning I gave my editing a really serious, concentrated effort and found some real howlers. I crack myself up, when I am not weeping from frustration.

This is not an appeal for any of you to read my stuff and PM or email or comment about what you find. I am just venting.

Some of you might be able to relate, being writers yourselves………………
