This week one of the guys in our gaming group adapted Combat Patrol(TM): World War II for use in a cowboy skirmish. It worked really well. See additional details here: bucksurdu.com/blog/?p=5988

Yes, they seemed to work quite well. For a cowboy game you might want to skip morale checks for that more cinematic feel. I will get Zeb to post his cowboy weapon data to the rules' web page after a couple more pkayvrests.
