Truth truly is stranger than fiction.

In WWII, the Germans developed a human, radar detector:

Apparently, 300 units were produced, and they were operationally deployed in 1944 on land, and on U-Boats.

Boy, I'll bet the guys assigned to wear this gear were really pleased (heavy sarcasm intended).
