Here is my first shot at writing my own scenario. I've played tested part of it and plan on a couple of more time to refine the balance of forces with objectives. I will run the game for my club in February and if all goes well with then I plan to run at Cold Wars. Date: August 22, 1914 Location: North of the village of Rossignol, near Tintigny Belgium. History: In the early morning of the 22nd the French 3rd Division advanced North on the main road out of Rossignol in the direction of Neufchateau to secure billets believing the German main force was over 30km away. A German Cavalry force from the 12th Division encountered French Cavalry moving north just south of the village Rossignol. The French drove off German Cavalry, cleared the village of Rossignol and push towards the wood but halted as resistances stiffened. The French ordered the 2nd Bn of the 1st Colonial Infantry Regiment to clear the woods and road north of the German Cavalry and supporting Jager Infantry. The French Infantry swept the German Cavalry and the detached Jager Infantry and after driving 600 meters into the woods the French Infantry encountered the 157th Silesian Infantry entrenched in a strong defensive position. The battle became a face to face struggle at the end of the bayonet. German Orders: Prevent the French from clearing the road up to 12 inches. French Orders: Push the Germans from within 12inches of the road and clear the woods. Game Length: ?? |

Sounds interesting. Do you have any maps of the location? |

I have google maps but I am still working on getting a better map of the area. Most of the area was wooded with light to heavy woods with small streams crisscrossing the area. |

Where did you get the description of the battle from? Robert |

Hey Robert, Pulled it from a few sources but for the most part I wrote it. Consider it a draft as I am working the order of battle now. Neil |
