As you suggest – based on the artwork of Rodney Matthews – very nicely done and lovely to see – old Minifigs fantasy figures have a distinct charm and appeal – even if it is somewhat at odds with prevailing tastes. Thanks for sharing them!

Outstanding! I've never seen those figures before. You did a great job.

I love to see really old miniature given the works with good paint jobs, these are sweet.

Those bring back memories.

Growing up in Southampton in the 80s trips down to the mini-figs factory was a highlight of my youth. We used to use those guys and among others as stand ins for our Warhammer games.

Never been one for prevailing tastes – always liked those shields.

That was a real trip down memory lane. Thank you.

And nice work.

Nice! Always liked those figures. I have a unit of AR's mounted elves that I keep meaning to repaint someday. Their horses are right out of a Rodney Matthews' painting. This one:

I did my Silver Rose unit in golds and yellows.

From time to time I find an AR fig in a second hand lot or e-bay offering.

Really nice to see them painted up.

Some from the AR range are still available from Minifigs :

Now that brings back memories… I've naturally never seen them this well painted, which adds to the sensation :--)
