…May Not Return Until 2018.

"HBO has booked a return ticket to Westworld.

The premium cable network has renewed the freshman drama for a second season of 10 episodes to air in either fall 2017 or 2018, The Hollywood Reporter has learned. (Also scoring sophomore seasons are comedies Divorce and Insecure.)

"Westworld is such a big, ambitious show. I don't know if it will be fall of 2017 or into '18," HBO programming president Casey Bloys told THR. "That will depend as we get up and running. With Westworld, because the production is such a big endeavor, I don't exactly know when [it will premiere] yet. I can't speculate other than to say it'll either be '17 or '18. Probably more like '18 and half-hours [Insecure and Divorce] in '17 but we're a year away so let's see how it goes."…"

Yea, skip a full year.

That'll be sure to make the fans happy, AND to help increase viewership.

While I have been enjoying the show, I hope they at least wrap up this major plot line this season. Sort of like the way Rome was done. Hopefully the second season is strong. I can wait. It's not like there aren't other things to watch.

Absence makes the heart grow fonder. I've enjoyed it so far, it has mimes of Carnival in it (remember that one?) I've enjoyed the build up of suspense and deep horror in the series and even enjoyed Thandi Newton in this (not a favourite actress) and Anthony Hopkins playing himself has been a good laugh, so a break and time to build a good second season is actually a good idea I think.

I like the show … seems some don't. That is really no surprise. Like some enjoy TWD, I find it very … well … not very entertaining. I was never a big zombie-phile, anyway. And the survivors in TWD are so stupid, IMO, they should be eaten by zombies ! huh? So the point being not everybody finds all the same things entertaining, etc., …

I knew there was a robot in the mix. Enjoying.

I did give up 5 parts… but will watch the last one to see whats going on.. i just i miss the robots from the film, and the people going into the town from outside. So i was not into the 2 cowboys of the show and one was a super dick too. I wonder what the goal of it is…i mean if the robots – "hosts" are flesh and blood if there got out into the real world what would that be like…?

I think the underlining themes may be :

Cut throat big corporations only caring about the $$$$.

Poor treatment of lower wage workers.

The Hosts are very "human", so human you can't tell them from real humans. But regardless the entire West World is geared towards human baser desires and instincts of wanton violence and sex.

You can do what you want to any of the hosts. As regardless … they are not humans so humans can let their "dark side" out. And show very little "humanity" to "beings" that are very much like humans. But they are disposable "play things"

I think it is a metaphor or parody of the corruption, greed and inhumanity of the human condition and species … towards others …

Hi Legion yes indeed. When i heard about one of the guests "man in black" always raping one of the hosts.i was thinking what my thoughts would be since there are machines, looking and acting as humans ?. Would I feel for a machine ? I think i would. When of course I find out they are flesh and blood i was shocked. Since they are human beings,or cloned flesh with memories added somehow.

Which for me makes the show very different then robots being used,or the option for robots to maybe fight back.. alittle different from the film. The second westworld film.." furureworld" did have evil tones of world power and moving out of the park and into the real world which was scary.

I guess there`s a bit of bladerunner there, hunting down those that are out of place in there thoughts… Alot to thing about… Thanks Legion 4

I love Bladerunner too !

I think I'd treat the "Hosts" in West World as humans. Well … because they look and act just like humans. And I really don't have any base urges to commit rape or torture, etc. I don't even go hunting ! huh?

Now being with beautiful women, real or "hosts" … I'm good with that. Plus I'll freely admit. I'd never be able to be with as "lovely" a female as you see in mix of the West World hosts ! old fart wink
