Hi all, I'm looking for some info for a school project for my 9 yr old son as he has been asked to find out about the Shang Dynasty general Lady Fu Hao.What he needs to know, and which we can't find looking through everything Google brings up anywhere, is when and where she was born and how and when she died.I wondered if there are any of you out there who might be knowledgable about the Ancient Chinese, especially as the lady in question was apparently a very competent general. Thanks. |

Did you look at the references supplied with the Wikipedia article? You also get a clue as to the time of her death there, that she died before the king who built her tomb. At least it gives you a definite end date. |

Thanks Ted I'd looked at the first two links, but the third one is the most useful. First link won't load at the moment for some reason. Simon |

Isn't the idea of a school project that the child does the studying? |

Yes that's what we thought as well. His class teacher consistently sets homework that is beyond the capabilities of most of the class, I think in fact we are the only ones who manage to complete it properly week in week out, and that is with input from either myself, his mum or his grandparents alongside Josh. We thought that with it being the anniversary this year of Hastings and the Somme the curriculum might focus more on British history, but instead he is doing Chinese it appears. We wouldn't mind if what they do as homework actually comes up in class later to tie in with the project they are doing, but it never seems to. |

The links I gave are the equivalent of a book so it is up to the student to use them effectively I agree it is a deep subject for a nine year old |
