There are finally going to be some all plastic Thousand sons figures out soon.
They look pretty great too. Pretty much exactly what you would want from the dust-that-walks marines.
In addition to regular marines Ahriman is getting a new figure:
The marines themselves come with some different weapons options, which is nice that they aren't all just bolter armed:
There will be Terminators too:
And sorcerers:
But the thing I find most interesting is that they are releasing 40K Tzaangors:
These are the first dedicated Beastmen I've seen for 40K for about 20 years.
You have usually been able to field them one way or another in your chaos armies, and they were easy enough to convert, but dedicated 40K beastmen are pretty cool.
Other than the weapons I don't see anything on them that screams 40K over AoS so maybe I can get some and convert them for use in my Tzeentch AoS army too. But they might have some out for AoS before I get around to that.
It will be a nice bump to the Thousand Sons as I've always wondered how they managed to keep going for the past 10,000 years with only 1242 of them making it off of Prospero.
The one thing that I'm pessimistic about is that they are calling them Rubric Marines instead of Thousand Sons.
This leads me to believe that they won't be fixing the whole Tzeentch dedicated marines should not always be Thousand Sons.
Sure you could fluff around it but it was something that made the Thousand Sons unique and there should be rules for Black Legion, say, marines that want to dedicate themselves to Tzeentch. They don't become Thousand Sons, why would anyone do that.
