Hi, I'm looking for advice on the very nicest NW India / colonial Afghan figs in 20mm / 1/72 scale. In 15mm Napoleonics, for eg., AB are standout in quality. Is there something equivalent in terms of quality for the period/scale I'm after? FMB |

Newline Design makes some nice figs, including sepoys. There is a sale on, too. Not much for pics at the website and the line isn't very big, but I bet the quality is there. |

I really like the 20 mm Newline colonials. Nice detail and look good with my plastic colonials. I also use Early War miniatures mountain gun and crew, ammunition mules and camels and these also fit well with 1/72 plastics. |

The old Jacklex line is also available, very nice figures if my memory serves. I think you'd need to google 'Jacklex' to find the current manufacturer. |

RSM has a small line of Pathans – But they are beautiful figures. The site seems to be active: link |

don't forget, in 20mm, Raventhorpe…nice few poses of Pathans…with right weapons and bandoliers..if you game the late NWF period..the separate heads choice for the majority of Imperial figures will give you a lot of variety…and they have some types very iconic for NWF like British infantry in shirt sleeve order which..with a changing of heads could be used also for Indians and Ghurkas…hiddem among their ranges (WW2 East Africa) the Sudan Defence Force dismunted cameliers in pullover, cummerbund, bandolier pouches, sandals , Lee Enfield and turban with kullah..are the only figs at this scale than can pefectly depict essential minis for late NWF warfare like Militia, Frontier Scouts ecc..one of them is even designed firing while sheltering behind a rock….and don't forget Vickers Mk II light tank and mountain howitzer ..also by Raventhorpe |
