As was thinking of moving somewhere/ option of staying in country, I was looking for active Historical ( and even pure historical) gamers. It is hard , if not very hard to find. How many are actually around? A few 100? Not the tmp "registered" as it includes every type and as it seems no one stops being in, once registered, but just fade away, even dead one might be in. Where I was looking forward to possibly move, Perpignan, say 400000 people within 1/2 h around there seem to be just no one. Do I really have to move into a small house in England ( without my game room then…)? |

When I lived in France, I found the association the Sabretache very useful for making contacts. In those days they had an active wargames section (that played mostly with flat figures but some epic armies) and all very friendly people. I am not sure where they meet nowadays because I know they had a premises issue – but it is probably worth dropping them a line – they will also have good links into groups like Le Briquet and La Giberne. In copies of the now defunct Figurines there used to be a full page of club addresses and links; again, mostly figurine collectors etc but many with wargaming sub-sectors. Good luck! C |

That must have been 20+ years ago. I believe there were maybe twice as many people interested. Nowadays brainwash states this as bad, everything is fantasy. Trying to stay and find a place that would suit me and my beloved. Were I alone I would take ( again) my one way ticket to England, but she does not like it there. |
