With 28 (!) units of French Line already in my collection, these new additions are the first to wear the uniform of the Glory Years of the Empire, including the bicorne.
The figures are Old Glory 28mm 1804-1807 Line Infantry in Bicorne, Campaign Dress, attacking. I think these are some of their best Napoleonic figures with the animation and all the little details like the frying pans, sacks, etc that the figures are encumbered with. Many more pics on the blog, along with "Le Chant du Depart" to inspire them! link Peter |

Gonsalvo: Although I do the French in 1809 your photos are making me regret that I didn't do them in the glory years. Also loved the La Chant du Depart!!! Thanks, John Miller |

I could have gone for them, had they done contemporary Prussians, or even completed the Russians. Nicely done, though. |

@ John Miller The vast majority of my French are in the 1809 uniforms as well. Definitely my era of choice for the French. However, I really liked the animation and character of this lot (and 2 more units to come). Le Chant is quite something; like La Marseillaise it somehow sounds much less bloodthirsty in French than the English translation does! @ Hafen Thanks. Yes it is a pity OG didn't do the earlier, much more colorful Prussians. Their Russians are fairly complete, at least for 1812 |

I was referring to the earlier, Austerlitz period Russians. They did infantry(though with included command--grr!),and POSSIBLY some cavalry (not sure about that, though), but not the artillery. Someone at Historicon years ago had a flea market table absolutely loaded with the bicorn French and early Russians. Guess he got tired of waiting and gave up. $10 USD a bag. Wish I'd been rich enough to scoop them up. At the time all this mass of stuff was released, I bought 1809 French and Austrians. And Peninsular Brits--on the promise of Portuguese and Spanish "coming soon". And we know how that turned out. BTW--They did do early Prussians eventually--in 18mm Blue Moon. I'm still debating about them. |

Very nice minis…and thanks for the suggested video anthem i play only French Revolution at this scale…maybe some well equipped OG types (knapsack) could be added to my Trent French fusiliers |

@ Hafen – Obviously OG is focusing their efforts on their 18mm Blue Moon lines. There is still plenty they could do with their 28mm lines as you point out. It doesn't seem likely that we will see that in the foreseeable future, but you can always hit Russ up at an HMGS convention and see what you could inspire him to do. It has worked before! @ ITALWARS Thanks, glad you liked them. I had largely shied away form bicorn-y troops until now, but as I plan to do the earlier version of the Spanish in the Peninsula, that could change dramatically sometime next year. |

I love many OG ranges but of their Napoleonics I think their French are the best. I have always fretted about their metal being too soft especially for muskets and other weapons. Has this changed for the better at all? Chris |

Yes, I would love to do 1805-1807 French, but there are no complete ranges of their enemies (except from elite) so I'm seriously thinking about doing revolution instead. As eureka got at least some Austrian and Russians |

French Revolution good choice, in case of 1805 – 07 – 18 mm AB would solve a lot of demands |

I have a few 100 French and Russian 1805-1807 Russians. But 15mm don't do it for me anymore. |

Bayonets are the only items that do break off at times – that and the very thin, very tall plumes on the 1812 Grenadiers, Hussars, etc. The Revolution is tempting, but with 6K Napoleonics, this is probably as close as I am coming to that! |
