On the one hand, the Flanker – in its many guises – is a fascinating subject for modern aircraft modelers. It's big. It's got perhaps the best lines of any modern fighter. It's seen wide service. It's worn a variety of schemes and markings, and the more worn down examples present some interesting challenges to the weathering-inclined…"

Ouch. There's a lot of Whiskey Tango Foxtrot going on there, and well deserved.

I could see, if it came with it's own superdetailing supplies (etched brass sheets, some resin bits), a $100 USD price tag. But $150 USD+ for something they couldn't get the nose right on? No.

(Then again, I'm not exactly the target market here – I mainly pick up old 1/48 kits to convert into flyers for 40K…)

Wow, I can't imagine a 1/48 Flanker, the 1/72 models are big enough to use for 40k fliers as-is!

And I gotta agree with his comments on how exactly does one screw up the most distinctive feature of a heavily-photographed aircraft!
