I hated to do this, however, the sale ended and an invoice was sent on 10/31/2016. I also sent out seven e-mail starting 11/8 thru 11/15. I even posted here in the hopes that someone would know the buyer.

So far no response from Benjamin Gonzales (triton22588). I really did not want to do this because he has a 100% positive rating with 69 entries over the last 12 month.

Any advice?

Business is business. Sometimes it takes the next step to get people moving. I have my auctions set to start unpaid cases after 7 days automatically. Sometimes people have buyers remorse and just never respond.

I'm still new to this.

I can understand someone wanting to back out of a deal. My concern is that something happened to the buyer and he can't complete the transaction.

I would truly hate to effect is positive rating if there was something beyond his control happening.

Hi

You have tried to get in touch with him. But you may get hit with the e-bay fees if you dont file a unpaid.

I bought some product from an acquaintance in June. After numerous messages through Facebook and excuses about being busy after shows I have to file a PayPal dispute this weekend. He just simply isn't making the product and shipping it. I don't WANT to, he's a good guy and I wanted to support his business. He gave me a good price but I need the product so I have to get my money back and buy it somewhere else. Sometimes you need to do what's got to be done.

I once had a similar incident. Just before I started proceedings, I received an e-mail from the customer telling me that his computer had blown up and it had taken him this length of time to A – get a new one and B – sort out his passwords.

So a lengthy delay might have a reason.

Dampfpanzerwagon- in an age where most of us not only have a computer, but also a smartphone and probably a tablet as well, I am not sure that is a great excuse for non- payment; bit like "the dog ate my homework". But then I am a cynical old codger.

You waited long enough and did the right thing.

It won't affect his feedback rating anyway, so I wouldn't worry about that. If someone doesn't want to pay there's not really much you can do about it. I think if it happens a few times ebay will put a hold on their account.

emckinney16 Nov 2016 2:22 p.m. PST

My computer died weeks ago, I haven't been able to fix it, and my phone freaks out with eBay (the "frame" of navigation and such shows up, but none of the item information is there).

Go figure …

wyeayeman16 Nov 2016 2:22 p.m. PST

So he hasn't paid you did – he get the goods?
If you did not send the item than then surely, at worst all you have is an admin issue. Annoying but sometimes that happens.
If its more than that then hunt the Bleeped text down and stomp him!

Col Durnford16 Nov 2016 2:30 p.m. PST

No items were sent. Like I said, I'm still pretty green eBay wise.

I sent an invoice once the sale ended, but the goods are not shipped until the funds are in PayPal.

I remain hopeful that it is a problem with the PC or buyers regret and not something tragic.

I am only looking after my own interest here.

A bad rating doesn't hurt buyers, only sellers.

Your own interests are the ONLY ones you need to protect.

napthyme16 Nov 2016 3:45 p.m. PST

Its happens to me a lot guys with high FB numbers buy then never pay. It only hurts them if you have your store set to filter out the NPBers if they do it to often.

Just file and move on if you don't hear from him.

Col Durnford17 Nov 2016 10:41 a.m. PST

I just had a few more auctions complete. I hadn't noticed before that on the "Item sold" e-mail from eBay, it says they also send out a reminder to the buyer for payment within 48 hours.

As I said above, I'm new to this and that someone would make a deal and then back out without even an e-mail was a bit of a surprise.

Thanks to all for the guidance.

Vince
