So, after painting several 15mm tanks and loving it, I considering painting larger scales (20-28m) using an airbrush. I had an Azteck (the plastic version) and while it was ok I struggled with gripping it. I've read a few things online about the Grex trigger brushes, but I'd like to hear from miniature painters on what trigger brushes they like over someone who builds model kits. |

After using a Badger single action airbrush for many many years…I talked with my paining buddy who recommended a double action airbrush since I was doing a lot of tight camo schemes for my WWII armor/vehicle models. Using my 40% off coupon app for Hobby Lobby, I bought an Iwata Neo airbrush along with a new air compressor w/small tank. I build 1/48 scale models (100+) for my CoC gaming needs, and has been working out like a champ for the last year and half. Its actually a pleasure to airbrush since I upgraded. Sorry, what I use is not a trigger air brush. Hope this helps and Good luck. P. |

Hmmm. I guess I don't know what a trigger airbrush is. I use an Iwata NEO like redmist and it is awesome. |

I have an Iwata Neo that I bought after my Aztek brush packed up – the Iwata works fine with the Aztek blue compressor. I haven't used a trigger brush – but Iwata make one in the neo series. Mike |

I learned on a single action brush. As a result when I tried a double action I could never master it. HOWEVER I did get a Grex Tritium TG3 trigger type airbrush. It is a modified double action and found it easy and intuitive to learn. I do both 15mm AND 1/35th scale models as well. To me the grip just felt more natural. I have to admit I had the advantage of trying out the Grex at that companies stand at a previous Historicon so it wasnt a blind choice. |

I have handled but not used the Grex. I like the action of the trigger but the grip was to small for my hands. |

I picked up a Grex trigger airbrush at Historicon several years ago. I no longer use any other type of brush. I have used it for painting 1/48 scale armor kits and 15mm vehicles. I recommend you try before you buy if you have the opportunity to do so. Don |

The Iwata Neo is a fantastic bit of kit. I have one. |
