Here is the link. Curious what folks here think of the product. It looks to be high quality, all the way around. They do, however, have a higher price point, compared to Paizo laminated, erasable 2D terrain mats. Note that the standard mat size is 30" x 3", but you can upgrade to 36"x36", 48"x48", or even 72"x48", for additional monies ($15, $25 USD, $35 USD, respectively).

For me, they look great, but the price is high. I play mini's games, so I am more interested in full 3D terrain, but I still use vinyl BattleMats, and recently, some Paizo stylized mats, for my RPG sessions, as it is just simpler, faster, and easier. I will pull out, and set up, full 3D terrain, if I have a set-piece encounter, but the majority of my RPG combat scenarios develop on the fly. When I have a dungeon-crawl planned, I can go deeper into it, but I have 2D terrain set-up's for that already.

Looking forward to your comments, thoughts, and ideas. Cheers!

I agree. It looks great, and I am sure it is good quality, but the price point seems really high.

Hmm. I'd be a hard sell on this one. But if I did it, I'd buy everything I ever MIGHT want as part of the kickstarter. I'm not sure how well it would blend with anything else, and you just can't count on manufacturers still being there in five years when you decide you really do need that extra little bit.

Since I normally do miniatures games and not RPG these days, I'm more inclined to buy a $10 USD felt at a craft shop, paint to suit, including rivers and roads, then add 3D terrain from my existing stock. For the RPG, this may be a better alternative--but be sure to get everything on your first pass.

Well said, Robert. Spot on.

Skeleton Key do my favorite tiles, both fantasy and sci-fi. These are beautiful, but, right now, they're a bit beyond my price point. Still, I hope this is a successful Kickstarter, just to see more Skeleton Key releases.

What advantage could this have over heavy card 2D terrain like TSR/ Hasbro sells?

They won't slide as easily, on nearly all surfaces. I took 2D dungeon printouts from Fat Dragon Games, and I mounted them on peel-n-stick, vinyl floor tiles (#4 – Basing Copper Dragon Dungeon Floor Tiles, roughly halfway down this page). They work well enough for me, and they're much smaller of an investment of money. Still, these are nice, just out of my price range. Cheers!
