Guns, Guns, Guns The next one of my Junktown buidlings. Another trader, this time the Gunshop. Based in an old Chinook helicopter, the gunshop is a grossly over-stocked dumping ground for everything from rusty pipe rifles to high-tech .50 cal sniper rifles and small tactical nuclear weapons. This is a WIP, rather than the finished article I normally put up, simply because I think it may take me a while to get this one done, and I need to commit myself. It has taken about 3 years simply to get the chinook out of the cupboard and get it started. Hopefully things will go quicker from here on in. Lots more external detail to add including pipes, wires and a load of Spartan Scenics weapons cabinets which will go inside the main body. Overview

Quite an investment in scenery accessories there. Ought to be a wonderful centerpiece to a board. Where did you find the pallets on the last two photos that the ammo, cases and crates are stacked on? |
Clan Mac | 13 Nov 2016 9:47 a.m. PST |
Hi Mardaddy, The pallets are Siku 1:50. You can normally find them in sets of 10 and 50 on eBay. I have a collection of accessories which spans about 8 tool boxes. Sadly I can't see cool stuff without being tempted to buy it, so I need to do something like this every now and again just to keep my accessories under control! |

Post apok buildings are always WIP-the genre is constantly adding and subtracting. Beautiful work and inspiring. |

Sensational. Looking forward to seeing that painted. |

Curses. I knew that there was something else I was going to look for at the IPMS Nationals today – aircraft to use as post-apocalypse shelters. Oh well I shall just have to admire yours and hope I remember next time I go to a model show. |

The degree of anticipation I'm feeling right now is downright indecent… |

That is seriously impressive! Love the way you've incorporated so many diverse elements. |

Not my area of interest but this is very, very cool!! |

Very Nice, Where is the ATV from? |
Clan Mac | 05 Dec 2016 3:54 p.m. PST |
Firstly, Moe, sorry I missed your question. The ATV is from the Airfix British in Afghanistan 1.48 scale kit. You get two! An update. Haven't moved that much further forward but I have added a few things. Now finished the base model and the extras, including a few stand alone heavy weapons for sale, some more junk to nest the helicopter in and some weapons work benches. Also added gas pipes and electricity cables. Everything also now has it's base 'rust coat' which almost certainly makes these pics harder to see. Still, you get the idea. First, all the bits together

From rusty brown to…er…rusty. Finished this at last. It's been hanging around as a project for years so getting it done gives me hope that I'll do something with that Hind model, and that 1/48th SCUD launcher, and the swift patrol boat..and …and… Anyway, on with the photos…. The overall shots
The weapons workshop
Shop close ups
The hidden side
And a few details… Quite proud of these weapons workbenches
Now stuck. Which of the endless projects to go to next, the Botshop, a bigger base board, the 4 scrap hunters vehicles half built or the Junktown Militia…. |

Cannot stop looking at this project! The completion is every bit as good as the conception. "Cheap guns – use at own risk"? Genius! |

That is not only exceptionally painted, but amazingly creative. I tip my hat to you sir – very well done! Terry |

Just admiring your work again, looking for inspiration. What's your source for the like of the gas bottles, steel doors, etc.? |
Clan Mac | 31 Jul 2017 8:00 a.m. PST |
Hi Alan, Many thanks. The source for the bits varies. Gas bottles are from ZInge industries, as are some of the heavier doors. Cabinets in this one are Spartan Scenics. Aircon units and the like are from The Scene UK. I have a bits addiction and tend to buy small bags of 'stuff' whenever I see it. I also hoover up cheap incomplete models on ebay to fill the bits box. |
