GREAT looking games! Your Kallistra hex terrain looks fantastics. I really like the way you based your 6mm Baccus. I actually gave up on a 6mm project because I could not decide on a basing scheme that worked for me. I may have to revisit that project! One question for you--how did you keep track of each hit on a unit? |
keithbarker | 12 Nov 2016 10:24 a.m. PST |
@Desert Fox We use Commands & Colors rules. Each unit starts with 3, 4 or 5 blocks/bases. (IIRC Cossacks start with 2). Each hit taken removes one block/base from the unit. If you look at the bottom of the picture, you can see the French infantry, which started with 4 bases each, have taken casualties. Commands and Colors doesn't have different formations except square. It assumes that the unit's tactical commander has it in an appropriate formation for its task. There are square markers which are used to show this, extra useful when the unit only has one block/base remaining. |

Keith, One more question. What are the dimensions the dimensions of your bases? |
keithbarker | 14 Nov 2016 7:34 a.m. PST |
@Desert Fox The hexes are 10cm so we chose 4cm wide bases allowing two bases to fit side-by-side comfortably. Most bases are 40x15mm with 2 rows of infantry or one of cavalry. Artillery are 40x30mm with 2 artillery pieces or a limber. We also somtimes have a 60x40mm base containing an artillery limber and ammo wagon(s). Generals are on 25mm round bases. |
