Panzer I Ausf F with 2nd Police Armoured Company.

The five tanks issued retained their Panzergrey paintwork till at least the spring of 1944 when two tanks were photographed abandoned after bogging down in the Stanislau area on operations against Russian partisans.

Agreed. very nice. you don't get to see these regularly.

It's the 1/72 kit from Flyhawk.

very nice. Exactly my thoughts!

Very nice. Are the round bits on the hull applique armour over a vulnerable spot, or escape hatches?

steveinns11 Nov 2016 7:46 a.m. PST

Masterful !

@Martin
The round bits are hatches.

That is a fantastic job Piers! How did you do the yellow numbers? They genuinely look like one of the troop figures spray painted them on. How did you get that sort of fuzzy/feathered look to them?

PiersBrand11 Nov 2016 11:24 a.m. PST

The yellow numbers are decals. I used some really old and poorly printed ones and hit them micro sol and filters to blend them and fade them in.

Lovely work as always Piers. Incidentally, the splendid German Char Bs you did for SWMBO a year or two back will be in action tomorrow for the big Oosterbeek game at our club open day.

That's an incredible paint job on a very great looking model. Well done!

Skeptic11 Nov 2016 12:33 p.m. PST

Great work! Do you have a blog, for future reference?

Just a page on Facebook for models…
