I've based the first five of my Ultramarines, I've gone for a slightly lighter shade of blue but I'm pretty impressed with the results. The basing seems to have worked quite nicely, it's the first time I've used this method but I'm guessing it won't be the last.

Some of the nicest looking Smurfs I've seen in quite some time! I've mostly abandoned 40k for 30k Heresy and Great Crusade-era stuff, but I always enjoy a nice paint job!

Wow, those look outstanding!

Mind if I ask your recipe for that perfect blue?

Thanks again guys it's always nice to get feedback.

ScottS I know GW fans may not approve but the base coat is Altdorf Blue, recess wash with Drakenhof nightshade and edge highlight with Calgar blue. True purists may disagree but it seems to work a treat.

So thanks for looking
Cheers for now Russ
