This is roughly 1:8300 scale. Bashytubits used his 3D printer to make it for me.
My preferred scale is 1/5000, so this is kind of small. But it is almost perfect as an Ambassador-class ship in that scale. I would just need to deepen the belly a little. I have two more to finish up, so they will probably get the belly treatment. An amusing anecdote about my painting process can be found at TMP link |

Teeny starship! Nice work. |

Wasn't the saucer section of the Enterprise D smoother than that? |

Thank you, Martin tkdguy: yes, by a long shot. Bashytubits created these for me on his 3D printer, which I have seen produce much smoother results. So I suspect the object file for it may have led to the ridges. Personally, I don't mind itcat all. |

I'm mostly into 1/7000, so fairly close. I prefer the TMP-era rather than TNG however. You might want to check Shapeways if you haven't already. There's a few nice Ambassador and Ambassador variants available from various shops. |

Mostly I model in paper/cardstock for my Star Trek models. But Bashytubits made three of these as a gift, and is working on a proper sized 1/5000 Galaxy class for me, so I am excited to be painting and using them. |

Looks pretty neat. Nothing a bit of auto primer can't fill, to smooth out, I suspect. |
