I'm not impressed with any 10mm WW2 figures, vehicle or soldiers that I have seen. Are there any out there that I am missing? I am debating starting GHQ micro armor (which I love), but wanted to explore 10mm options since that scale suits me a little better. My impressions at the moment are to go GHQ, but would love to hear your opinions. |

No. GHQ is pretty much the gold standard for any scale. Most quick build 20mm kits don't have the detail that GHQ has |

I can't argue with anything Mr Bliss has opined. They are great models. John T |

I'm a big fan of Pendraken for 10mm, but GHQ is hard to match. Do bear in mind that many small figures look bad in photos. buy a tank or two to check them out in person. |

Although 12mm not 10mm, arrowheadminiatures.co.uk are pretty damn good. for that scale, 10 or 12mm they are probably the best on the market. IMHO. |

Since you did not mention period of interest, look at Van Dyke miniatures. At Crisis last weekend, they had some of their minis under a microscope for all to see. They have WWI and Ancients right now. The size and stature are on par with GHQ 10's for a comparison. Highly recommended. |

I am a fan of Baccus 6mm, but for Civil War gaming, I switched to GHQ 10mm. They are absolutely stunning! I think there would be a new narrative in the wargaming world if GHQ started to produce WW2 armor and figures in 15mm. Just my 1 1/2 cents. |

I have a large collection of 1/144 WW2. It includes Japanese Plastic tanks (Takara, dragon, Trumpeter etc), Arrowhead Miniatures and Minifigs tanks and vehicles and infantry from Minifigs, Arrowhead and Pendraken. The tanks are, imho, perfectly fine models. My preferred infantry are Minifigs, but some of the Arrowhead artillery crews are brilliant little sculpts. Pendraken are easy to paint, but some sculpts are a bit lumpy. I have some GHQ 1/285 tanks, mainly Russian. They are exquisitely detailed, but quite expensive (especially here in UK with devalued pound) and the infantry figures are notoriously fragile. As far as I know, GHQ only do 10mm (actually 1/160 American N Gauge) for ACW and Napoleonics. I would give 1/144 WW2 a serious look if I were you. |

1/44th scale plastics, and they come prepainted too. As mentioned, Takara, Dragon, CanDo, Pegasus, etc., etc. are superb. I've got a bunch of surplus Kursk and Battle of the Bulge Armor, if you or others are interested. You can e-mail me at: topgungrav AT yahoo [dot) c o m if you want more info. All are brand new, unused, and still in teir original packaings. Arrowhead makes the best minis in this scale, that are compatible in size with the 1/144th scale plastics. |

The Perrin 10mm infantry is very good but I have no idea what the vehicles look like. The last square hobby website has them. |

I think Pendraken has the best sculpts in 10/12mm. |

Only Arrowhead make tanks that are better than GHQ's, their rivits are closer to scale. However every 10mm company make infantry figures that are better than GHQ's. |

Hey guys, thanks for all your responses. I spent quite a bit of time following up your suggestions, but clearly 10mm has a long way to go to catch up to 6mm for selection. Most 10mm makers have limited offerings and it's difficult to find pictures for half of them. The ease of putting together some forces is for sure in the 6mm camp and the quality is clearly fantastic. |

"Most 10mm makers have limited offerings and it's difficult to find pictures for half of them". Actually the biggest range of models available for WW2 is only available in 10mm . pithead-miniatures.tk |

bummer, Arrowhead is out of stock of what seems like almost half their range. well, the basics I would want anyway. Order went into Irregular and am putting one into Pendraken. With 6mm I'll wait til I'm back in the US and gop with GHQ. Being in the EU now I am very disappointed that Heroics and Ros have hardly any images on their website. Not to blame just them, but I am STAGGERED at the lack of images on SO many manufacturers sites, Pendraken included. I am convinced I am in the hobby where it is the most difficult to spend money sometimes. I know a lot of us hate some of the 'big boys' and what they have done to the hobby, but you have to credit them with making it easy to do business with them. |

Not everyone working in the small scales neglects to put pictures up on their site. You'll find that we have a photo for every code in our range, including our lovely new WW2 figures link Just coming to the end of the first round of infantry releases with the initial releases of armour and artillery due in the new year. |

I'll definitly be ordering some from Baccus.(love their Napoleonics) Update, I just received some 10mm from Irregular today. MUCH nicer vehicles then what I expected. I'll try to post some pics after painting them this weekend. As a side note, I received an email response from them the day I placed the order and then notification the next day that they shipped. They were at my house 4 days later, (UK to the Netherlands). Ordered from the 10mm company that is very popular (and makes GREAT figs) and got a paypal receipt stating that orders typically ship in 21 days and no response to an email I sent correcting my mailing address. |
