… to all the hard working staff that made the event so much fun. A big thanks to Dan and his crew. Without volunteers like you all we wouldn't be able to have such fun.

TSD10106 Nov 2016 6:02 p.m. PST

Smoothest convention in awhile. Maybe we should put Dan on the BOD.

Amen to what Jim said! Thanks to Dan and crew, and to Santa Moe and the T4T folks.

Another thank you. Smooth registration process and helpful staff on the event registration desk.

So thanks to the whole team from a Brit who loves the American way of doing wargame shows.

Disco Joe06 Nov 2016 6:27 p.m. PST

I agree. The registration was very smooth. Thanks to all who participated.

Duncan Adams06 Nov 2016 6:28 p.m. PST

Maybe we should put Dan on the BOD.

Why? Because no good deed goes unpunished?

Yes, an excellent con was put on by the Fall In folks! Thanks to all the organizers and game masters.

You're right. What was I thinking. What a horrible way to reward someone.

Bowman06 Nov 2016 7:27 p.m. PST

Let me add my thanks to Dan and his crew for a great convention.

Moe the Great06 Nov 2016 7:33 p.m. PST

Yes, a big thanks to the whole staff and Dan for the great convention and to the hotel staff who helped us find some extra tables, table clothes and fixed a few lights that were out above our tables..

People had fun? Things went smoothly? Attendees are _thanking_ the staff?????
Checks to see if the Mayan calendar waan't about 4 years late….
From my impressions, folks were having fun. That is the most important factor. Whatever the gate numbers say, high or low, it seems to have been a success.

Xintao06 Nov 2016 7:41 p.m. PST

Great con, thanks Con Staff

DF200906 Nov 2016 7:47 p.m. PST

No. Thank you guys for not cussing, spitting, or throwing things at us this con. It was a nice change. :)

I had a great time! Thanks to all who helped put on Fall In! 2016.

Russ Lockwood06 Nov 2016 9:05 p.m. PST

Yep, HMGS did smooth work. Anecdotally, around the con, I heard some gamers compliment the event sign up process and some GMs praise using the same table and not having to set up and tear down multi-day games.

I had a good con. The games I ran were full and went well. My gut would tell me that attendance was up. I still have hopes for the host

Sounds great gang.

I had a great time, well worth the 10 hour trip.

bogdanwaz07 Nov 2016 6:19 a.m. PST

I had a great time as well. Definitely well-organized. Thanks to all involved.

I'll add my thanks to the Fall-In staff. My son and I came for the day on Friday, had a very smooth and quick trip through pre-reg and saw some great looking games. Dealer hall was great – I spent too much money – but there were some good bargains and lots of product. Great job.

ScottWashburn Sponsoring Member of TMP07 Nov 2016 6:42 a.m. PST

It was well-run and a lot of fun. The new layout in the Dealer's Room was a great success.

kmfrye07 Nov 2016 6:47 a.m. PST

Let me just echo the praise – good con, good staff. Well done, all.

A great con, a big thanks to Dan and staff, everything I saw ran smoothly. It's nice to see the Host putting itself back together, it will never be a "modern" hotel" and I'm sure there are still plenty of issues, but it was great to see "home-base" get a little TLC.

Poniatowski07 Nov 2016 9:11 a.m. PST

Thank you all for the kind words.
The numbers seem to indicate 1830. That is a great show.

There were a great numbers of changes too… however small. They seemed to be working.

As you all know… the real praise does go to the other staff. They worked very hard, I just tried to inspire. We really have a great system for registration now and thank you all so much for giving the folks time to work out kinks, etc… to make it better. noticeably a great thanks to the invention/addition of the Will Call line!!!!

The event team on site did an awesome job helping to correct any mistakes, keep track of available tables due to cancellations, etc…

I think everyone really stepped up their game. The vendor hall ran smoothly.. pretty much, there were incidents, but all was handled very professionally.

I do need to apologize though:
We didn't beat the record, but it is getting close… we ran out of event space too…. yes, some space opened up due to no shows and cancellations, but the Lampeter and other rooms were very busy well into the night…. all of them.

So I apologize to an earlier poster…. I monitored the Lampeter very closely…. we could have run a flea market for the vendors, BUT…. it would have been hard pressed…. that place WAS PACKED with pick up games, etc….

I know I ramble…. the flea market staff handled all things very well and the registrar and ACD kept me in line. I think the show went well.

SO thank you all for coming as the show isn't the show without everybody!!!!

I am very happy about it personally because I was able to sell out almost in the flea market and then on Saturday and Sunday managed to get to the dealer hall and spent not only every cent I made selling but probably more than my wife would have wanted me to….

The vendor hall was filled this year and I hope you guys liked the addition of demo tables and new layout. It gave the vendors more bang for their dollar.. technically, the more you bought space wise, the larger your footprint became.

The Polish Lancers were a nice addition, I hope you guys liked them, they were well within budget.

And I have to say.. thanks for the thoughts for the BoD, but I firmly believe that is a direct conflict of interest…. you cannot be on the BoD AND a Convention Director…. That is my personal belief and possibly not that of any one else alive.

In the end, I am just glad I am seeing that a lot of folks had fun, that is what it is all about!!!!

I am really gearing up for Cold Wars now and, as usual, I am sure Frank has a lot in store and it will be every bit as great!

captrsharpe07 Nov 2016 9:25 a.m. PST

Many thanks to the Fall-In staff! It was a great show.

Great time! Great show! Thanks to all who made it happen.

Let me add to the chorus. The Fall In! staff and the Host staff both did a first-rate job.One of those convention memories to take out and treasure later. I was especially pleased with the packed dealers hall--always tricky for this convention.

And may I add a word of thanks to the game masters? The standard of table appearance keeps getting better. And Moe and the rest of the Toys for Tots crowd, if they're not convention staff, deserve their own round of applause.

On to Cold Wars!!

Joerg Bender07 Nov 2016 3:18 p.m. PST

And another THANK YOU to all involved organizing and running the show. It was our first time with "Things from the Basement" and not bad at all!
We'll be back next year (and bring more of give-aways as they ran out Saturday afternoon…).

The G Dog Fezian07 Nov 2016 4:01 p.m. PST

I'd not been to Fall In since it left the Eisenhower, but managed to work it into this year's schedule.

Walk up registration went pretty well – took a bit of time to get the label to print, but otherwise was easy – and I've never had an easier time of getting signed up for a game than on Saturday evening. Had fun gaming, spent more than I should have in the flea market and vendor halls and worked in side trips to Strasburg and Gettysburg to boot!

Good times!

Cardinal Ximenez07 Nov 2016 4:36 p.m. PST

Thank you to all who make it happen. It was one of the better Fall In weekends for me in a long while.

shaneypops07 Nov 2016 5:01 p.m. PST

This was my first time at the convention, coming from Connecticut. I had a great time! Certainly a quirky venue, but I thought it was fun!

I had a blast as usual. Thanks to the event staff, vendors, and Wally's Basement Denizens. It was the busiest Fall-In I can remember.
