I've recently started selling on E-Bay and have a question about getting paid. I had a sale end Monday and most of the items were paid for and delivered or are in the pipeline. Except one buyer. No word from him at all. Yesterday, I sent out a reminder with a copy of the invoice that was sent out Monday. My question is how long do you usually give with no response before you lose hope? |

About ten days then I'll go to eBay for help. |

A lot of people put in their ads that they expect to be paid in three days. I think that's pretty standard. Perhaps he's away for some reason, or forgot about the purchase. I'd send him a nicely worded reminder message. |

In my limited experience I have seen payments within the three day window. Actually, I a little worried that something happened to the buyer. He has an outstanding rating and all positive comments. |

Sometimes payments fail, especially on the mobile apps, without the buyer spotting it. Just message the guy, give him a couple of days then open a case. |

Usually I do the following - Sunday Night – All my auctions end. If customer has won multiple auctions I will send an invoice once all bidding has been finished for the week. Usually that night or Monday morning so that they have the correct shipping amount. Tuesday Night If I have not been paid by Tuesday for a "single item" auction, I send out an invoice as a reminder. Thursday, I will send out a message through Ebay asking if they are having an issue or need more time. If I do not get anything by the next Sunday, I go through the Ebay process. Oddly, most of the time a person who is delayed was because of a death in the family and they could not respond to emails. Not sure if its true or just a convenient excuse people like to use. A couple have been on vacation. I do have one customer who likes to wait a week to see what I am putting up for auction next in hopes of combining shipping, so I have been just sending him messages instead of jumping on the ebay button. |

haywire, I am inclined to believe there is something going on along the same lines (death in the family) since the buyer has such a good rating (100% with 74 positives in the last 12 months) Looking at his feedback this delay is out of character. I may be to trusting, however, I'm just not ready to do something yet. Anyway, another e-mail out this morning. |
