Can someone confirm that the models for these game systems are both nominally 1:1200 scale ? The DW models look about the right size, but to my eye that would make the IS ones at least 1:1800 possibly 1:2400. I know it's all sci fi anyway, but the disparity seems jarring to me. TIA. |

They are not the same scale. Dystopian Wars models are twice as big. |

So is IS 1/2400 or DW 1/600 ? |

DW claims 1/1200. My guess is IS/Aeronef models are 1/2400. I checked their site and it doesn't really say. |

The only Imperial Skies models I am aware of are the Aeronefs made by Brigade models UK. Those are 1/1200. Have not seen a DW model for a long long time so cant help there. |

Allen57 you're correct the Aeronef minis are used with the Imperial Skies rules and from what I know the Aeronef ships are 1/1200th. As for the DW minis I've no clue as to what scale they are but from what little I've seen of them they're much bigger than the Aeronef minis. |

Alien, Gideon, that's what I've seen as well. That's why I asked. DW models look about the same size as 1/1200 ships. Aeronef/Imperial Skies models look out of scale by comparison. I was quite disappointed by this as I hoped to mix and match. |

I Have both and they definitely do not mix. But I'm not worries about that as they are both good games in their own right. |

How do the models in the Leviathans boxes look against the DW ones ? They are supposed to be 1/1200 as well. |

I think they work better, but still feel off. Mind you, I think the Brigade Models work with DW, but Aeronef always said they were relatively small guns on what I took to be relatively small ships. "All vessels are assumed to be armed with a combination of machine guns and quick firing light artillery with fused explosive shell.." Imperial Skies may have made them bigger. ;>= Doug |

Guthroth I happen to still have my copy of Leviathans and the box says that they're 1/1200th scale. The Battleship is about 5inches long, the Cruiser is around 4inches or so long and the Destroyer is maybe 2 1/2 inches long. So they could be used with AERONEF/Imperial Skies minis. The main problem with Leviathans was that it was not really supported I know they did Fleet Boxes for the French and British but the ships were identical to the main boxed set only the names on the ship cards were different. They were going to come out with an Armoured Cruiser for both sides but as far as I know they never did. Don't get me wrong I liked Leviathans but it was very limited. |

Hmmm. 5 inches is 500 feet and British pre-dreds were 350-450 feet so that's about what right for 1/1200. Probably a bit too big for Aeronef/IS though. |

I've been planning to use Leviathans to test out IS, but Real Life(tm) has meant I've not played anything for too long. I decided to print Robyn's PDF of turn gauges at 150%; seemed right for the 'Monsters in the Skies.' Doug |

Currently working on a steampunk ACW project that combines DW and Brigade models. From everything I've been able to figure out they are both nominally 1/1200, but in practice the two ranges play pretty well together. Brigade models are probably a little small relative to DW, but you can just retcon the roles to make them fit together. They certainly don't clash much visually with a good paint scheme. |
