The Pound is going up after news of the court decision:

So,now,or wait until next month, when the Supreme Court may reverse?

Still quite low – but probably now would be a good time.

If you want to save money and help out poor old impoverished Brexitland.

We've got a Special Relationship, haven't we ? You know we have grin

Hope it gets a bit better in order to get UK gamers to attend historicon in 2017!

Will the $ crash if Trump wins ??

dBerczerk03 Nov 2016 3:50 p.m. PST

No. The U.S. dollar will not crash when Mr. Trump is elected the next President of the United States of America.

Well….they said much the same about the £1.00 GBP and Brexit….

Still, who knows?

wrgmr103 Nov 2016 4:40 p.m. PST

The stock market traditionally goes down a lot after an election.

Fergal03 Nov 2016 5:50 p.m. PST

Will the $ crash if Trump wins ??

Yes, yes it will.

Mako1103 Nov 2016 6:16 p.m. PST

It'll go back down against once the Fed raises interest rates in Dec..

Supposedly, they'd do it now, but don't want to adversely impact the election (ha, ha, ha)………

Frederick Supporting Member of TMP03 Nov 2016 7:14 p.m. PST

As noted, it is pretty low now (comparatively)

The Beast Rampant03 Nov 2016 8:09 p.m. PST

I've done my part to spur the UK economy this month!

keithbarker04 Nov 2016 3:18 a.m. PST

No the U.S. dollar will not crash if Trump wins.

Here's my reasoning…..

The world will be in turmoil.

The stock markets will crash dive.

In worried times, people move to safe currencies.
The dollar is still the safest currency.

So if anything, the dollar will rise if Trump wins!

The dollar might take a bump, but nothing major – its reserve currency status, and near universal use in commodities markets, means it's pretty well proofed against actual domestic issues. I wouldn't count on the pound rising though – this is a speed bump, not the start of any real rally.

Vigilant04 Nov 2016 3:44 a.m. PST

I see lots of dawghousing here just like I got after Brexit for commenting on the US election.

keithbarker04 Nov 2016 4:40 a.m. PST

I see lots of dawghousing here

Perhaps, but it is hard to answer a question about future currency exchange rates without touching on the US election the result of which affects not just the US but is important for the whole world.

Dynaman878904 Nov 2016 4:41 a.m. PST

Going for Popcorn! Be right back!

Hafen von Schlockenberg04 Nov 2016 6:36 a.m. PST

Um,my question wasn't about the US election,or politics at all. Or so I thought.

keithbarker04 Nov 2016 7:33 a.m. PST

@Hafen von Schlockenberg

Your qustion, IMHO, was about ecconomics and not politics.

I interpreted your question as "Should I buy from UK now or should I wait a month?", sorry if I got that wrong!

And by waiting a month, the US Election has happened, which can, I believe, have a much bigger effect on world ecconomics than a UK court decision.

However a question like "what will the dollar-pound exchange rate be in a month" really is one I doubt that any of us here could answer consistantly and accuratly, because then we'd all be milionaires!! grin

Hafen von Schlockenberg04 Nov 2016 8:02 a.m. PST

Ah, I see. I was a little too elliptical. I was referring to the UK Supreme Court, which I believe is due to review the lower court Brexit decision next month. See the article.

I was just wondering if it would be a good bet to wait,on the assumption that,if the decision is overturned, the Pound will drop even further. Or,take a bird in the hand, and order now.

keithbarker04 Nov 2016 9:11 a.m. PST

No you weren't elliptical. I knew what you mean. And the UK Supreme Court's decision is one thing that could affect the dollar-pound exchange rate over the next month. But the US Election is another thing that could affect the dollar-pound exchange rate. So first you must guess which way both of these things will go, and then guess how the two results will affect the exchange rate and then throw in an unknown or two just for fun!

So I think you should buy now, and if the exchange rate is much better in a month, buy some more. After all you can never have too much metal/resin/plastic can you? grin

Hafen von Schlockenberg04 Nov 2016 9:46 a.m. PST

So,buy now AND later? Ha,a typical wargamer answer!

ITALWARS04 Nov 2016 4:21 p.m. PST

as nobody has been DH until now..i'll take my chance to express my opinion…Election of Trump and , as i hope, confirmation of Brexit from UK Parliament….will certainly be a new deal for US and UK economics…as the market are influnced by common people propension to buy when they feel in good morale and not by corrupted élites..so as you're speaking of toy soldiers ..principally a domestic market…Dollars and Pounds would certainly rise up thanks to those two renaissances (new President….and Brexit) if compared to the crumbling Euro representing an Eurozone unsupported by good people with no money to buy and exploited by unelected élites…and , in any case, i will be very happy , in opposition to many, to double pay my minis

Zargon04 Nov 2016 5:37 p.m. PST

I'm for having the whole of the House of Commons thrown in the Tower, the Pound resurrected as a gold currency and a border for Scotland, this should steady Britain, oh and we should tar and feather the Frenchies, you Yanks can visit bring gold your paper money has no value in the UK but our products will still be worth the sovereigns you'll spend here. I'm sure the Don will be welcome but he'll need to bring lots of gold to the realm and our Queen might even knight him. If you get the screech owl all bets are off.

Mako1105 Nov 2016 6:43 p.m. PST

LOL……..

After all you can never have too much metal/resin/plastic can you?

In my youth I thought the same – but with age comes wisdom.

And a huge pile of unpainted plastic & lead.
