very nicely painted – but why do they carry an infantry colour?

mmm…maybe they captured it back

It's not an infantry colour. It does look large, but the horns in the corners make it look like the original 1804 issued to the CaC. They appear to be dressed for Austerlitz, 1805. Lost a lot of scarlet pelisses there, never to return.

Must be me.

But on a day when we seem to be seeing a lot of this unit…

I have to ask what this is about. A nice bunch of Chass a Chev de La G….but who made them? What scale? The website seems ideal for an 18 year old…….but I can make no sense of it.

The manufacturer is "Other". This daft frankly.

Would it be worth giving a little more background on what is being posted? They are not always self explanatory…

and, yes, they are superb! (grin)

There are days not to release something like this…I will not repeat the idea of the reverse…"a day to bury bad news", which we all remember from the UK……. on a day in 2001.

But these seem to have appeared, clashing with something quite outstanding;

Tell us something more about what we are looking at. The one picture suggests some very nice figures…stress some. The Blog does not tell us anything…..(groan)

Superbly painted. Those are Elite miniatures 28mm horses and it looks like some of the figures at least are also Elite based.

My guess was front rank by their "bulk" but will be interesting to find out for sure

Col Blancard04 Nov 2016 8:02 a.m. PST

this picture was posted on the Steve Dean forum by the actual painter, who added those words:

"I painted these figures, sculpted and modified with various heads, bodies, etc of Foundry, Perry an Old Glory by ***** and me. I hope you like them!"

[I shall not include any name as I am only reposting, hence the *****]

There are at least some Front rank figures here. The bare headed guy with the huge right arm, thicker than his thigh, is so characteristic and in the catalogue.

Great painting and a very impressive unit!
