Excellent work.

What make are the models?

boy wundyr x03 Nov 2016 7:57 a.m. PST

Very nice stuff, love the Enterprise!

Grignotage03 Nov 2016 7:58 a.m. PST

Fantastic stuff, thanks for posting.

SeaKing201603 Nov 2016 9:37 a.m. PST

The are from Superior and GHQ, I also have some from Seabattle and Sea Wulf that I will post once I have put them on their Stands like the ones you see in the photos.

The aircraft on the Clemenceau are scratch built by me although they may be a little on the large side, they were a first attempt by me at that scale.

I am currently working on USS Iowa (1990 GHQ version), Russian Kiev Carrier, Russian Baku Carrier both from Superior. and HMS Hermes from Sea Wulf. Photos will be posted as and when I complete them.

What is the emblem on the right corner of the Enterprise base?

SeaKing201603 Nov 2016 9:49 a.m. PST

The Emblem is the ships crest, which I have don with some but not all of the other U.S. ships.

Thanks for sharing these SeaKing! I never seem to get tired of admiring others' work; it's always inspiration for picking up the paint brush!

Looks great!

Love the aircraft coming in for a landing too. That's a nice touch!

Outlaw Tor03 Nov 2016 12:18 p.m. PST

Ah, wondered as it is different from the one I knew when serving on her.

I think you got the Carrier Strike Group emblem there…

Striker03 Nov 2016 12:49 p.m. PST

Very nicely done.

SeaKing201603 Nov 2016 1:57 p.m. PST

You are right it is the Carrier Strike Group Emblem, I never noticed it before, so will try and change it at some point. For now though it will stay as is :-)

Bozkashi Jones03 Nov 2016 3:15 p.m. PST

it's a gift that keeps on giving!

what's giving you the cool ripple effect SK? Is that watercolour paper or similar?

pmwalt03 Nov 2016 5:12 p.m. PST

Quite nice!

jgibbons03 Nov 2016 5:49 p.m. PST

Very nice!!!

SeaKing201604 Nov 2016 4:32 a.m. PST

Hi Bozkashi Jones,

The water is actually plastic card made by Plastruct, which comes in very light blue colour, and I painted grey under it to give it a darker colour, and white for the sea foam.

Here comes the Royal Navy to the rescue.

All are from GHQ apart from the County Class Destroyers which are from Superior.

Hope you like them and more to follow soon.

SeaKing Out.

Excellent models, SeaKing. It's impressive that you've even added the antennas. Those details on the planes and of course the sea effect also contribute to the beauty of the whole vessel. My favorite is the FNS Clemenceau – one just doesn't see the modern French ships so often in this scale.

Looking forward to seeing more.

Cheers,
Chen

Great work! Thanks for sharing.

Is the Enterprise the 1981 or 1985 version?

SeaKing201613 Nov 2016 9:01 a.m. PST

Hi Pericles311,

The Enterprise model is the 1981 version, so tried to paint it as it was in 1981. Not perfect but hope it captured the effect nicely.
