Well folk have been asking what would be their next move. The answer seems to have been Danes….9 new sets in the range suddenly. These poor devils are kitted out in clogs. Poor lad on the right, his face tells it all!;

I am sure Tango will show the rest (grin)

Bless him, what would we do without………?

YAAAWN…

Gosh, why oh why do I feel soooo bored?

Apparently, they love the exotic.

But, IMHO, cheap, somehow…

Military bands, apparently not exotic enough.

Or, simply, too difficult for them…(my personal conviction…)

You do have to say….

This is either incredibly imaginative and adventurous, in showing the integrity to ignore commercialism and tackle fringe subjects.

Or self-indulgent, idiosyncratic…and not listening to what folk are asking for.

The answer (as always) may be somewhere in the middle, between the two extremes. They have worked long enough to achieve the success that allows them to do what they want and we can then choose to take it or leave it.

I am a Perryphile, but these are not high on my Christmas list to be honest.

Having seen the Dromedaries I will forgive them!

Russian Jager Command and Horse Artillery Crew would be rather nice,

Tally Ho!

Nice miniatures for sure….. but my Danish army was painted years ago. Maybe in another life. Also have the Armee 'd Orient painted with the Dixon range.

Ever since they were with Foundry, I have always admired their attitude. If nobody produces the figures they would want to play with, by gum…..

I think one of them wants a Danish army.

Mamelukes would be nice and Swedes to compliment the Danes/Russians. The list goes on and on…. 1814 French young guard cavalry, Baden, Hessians, W'burg, did I mention Mamelukes?

Carabiniers in bearskin, now that the French range isn't exclusively 1815.

Also a pack of Austrian officers, to add some variety as we only have the guy in the plastic box.

Decent Carabiniers in cuirasses, let alone the early version would be wonderful, if in metal…..their plastic cuirassiers' heads are great, but the Carabiniers' heads/helmets are simply far too narrow in the coronal plane.

Any metal or plastic French (Guard?) heavy cavalry…(does not have to be Gendarmes d'Elite but if they did want to)….in the earlier cut away coat, revealing the waistcoat. The new Egypt dragoons are almost there, but carrying a lot of kit which conceals the lapels and a bit stunted?

Hi Liam,

Good that the Perrys have done these.

Second your pleas for some decent Carabiniers in Cuirasses!

I know Front Rank do some good ones too but they're just a little "static" for my taste.

Maybe, as Westfalia do the odd French chaps as well, Kawe could add them to my request for some Saxon Heavy cavalry.

Metal is my preference too.

Cheers,

Paul

The Front Rank Carabiniers are great castings and highly detailed, but desperately badly posed. They are all leaning back so far as to look sound asleep. The only figure I have used is the wounded chap who is meant to be falling backwards anyway. I have a dozen more in a box…unloved.

Oh yes. Garde du Corps and Cuirassiers of Saxony. I have the Eureka figures, but you cannot have too many!

Garde de Paris03 Nov 2016 3:13 p.m. PST

No one seems to make "really great" French Chasseurs a cheval of the line in the long-tailed habit.

Also missing, French dragoons, 1807-12 era, long-tailed habit.

I would love to do a 6-figure "squadron" in 28mm from the dragoons in particular. All that served in Spain for both!

Yes…Yes…just what I said above

Let's cry this from the rooftops.

I love Danish Militia in clogs. Especially the flank companies' bands and the pioneers d'Elite……

What do we 100% need?

Dragoons in the long tailed habit, with cut away to reveal the waistcoat…with lapels opened up. One cross belt only (do not clutter too much). High boots.

They become any Guard heavy cavalry, early dragoons, etc…let alone other countries' units eg Spanish, with simple head swaps and some Greenstuff.

Incredible that not one unit in 28mm that fits this. Not anatomically acceptable anyway, as human beings, in God's own image and likeness, as required in Genesis.

spontoon05 Nov 2016 4:21 p.m. PST

I hope they do some Danish artillerists next. I'd hate to have to carve up some of their lovely infantry to make gunners!
