HaT are asking for further suggestions for their crowdfunding "fast track" project for the 1/72 plastic figure range link |

I´m confused. Is the crowd funding for new or the promised sets? The first request in the thread, he´s unspecific wether he refers to 1/32nd or 1/72nd, refers to colonial ox carts, the roughs of which were shown 5 years ago. Ok, Hät mentions that at the top of the thread but will that set now become part of the crowdfunding?? Little of the crowd funding Project makes sense.. Sep 29
It is a new production line and will be done in parallel. It will not be affected by or affect the current production line. Please post any questions you have about the crowdfunding project to the e-mail listed on that page and then on Oct 5, All the unmade masters (2-3 years worth) are all stuck in the backlog. If the Zulu production line works out, we'll shift some production over and we'll do a request here for the next sets to be made Shift the production of the roughs/masters??..which would include the Ox carts or shift production from the crowdfunding to complete the previous masters? The second message does mildly contradict the first message will be done in parallel. It will not be affected by or affect the current production line |

Yeah, it is a bit confusing. HaT seem to regard their forum members as old family that already know what's in the pipeline. My own interpretation is that only sets that have already been announced (and "roughs" or masters posted on their forum over the years) are eligible. If successively funded they will be taken out of the queue and fast-tracked separately. The only way to tell what those are is by looking at the lists under the period links on the main HaT page and finding those marked with an asterisk which are "future items" e.g. hat.com/currentW.html Oh and if no scale is mentioned by the members I'm guessing they mean 1/72 as that seems to be HaT's most numerous and popular products. Then again I may have got all that completely wrong…

Thanks. Odder and odder. For instance..the WWI Belgian Infantry has painted test shots.. link which means the molds are made, sets have been cast, sent out and painted but that was nearly 18 months ago. Where would any crowdfunding help those sets? help pay for the plastic and boxes? I can´t see that the crowdfunding Project would be well known about, the HäT Forum members hardly constitute the mass of figure buyers, which will Limit the number of People involved and Limit therefore any funding. If say None of the sets, either new crowdfunded or the old "on the shelf" ones, now reliant on crowdfunding (as far as I can tell),don´t reach the Goals set for crowdfunding, would that mean that all future production could, theoretically, end? Hopefully the… "will be done in parallel. It will not be affected by or affect the current production line" ….actually means what it says. |

Yes, somewhat unclear, I agree! It actually seems less like the usual Kickstarter type crowdfunding and more in common with the pledge system used by some boardgame companies like GMT's P500. So you're not funding production with an arbitrary reward for different levels of cash sent but actually pledging to buy x amount of sets and the money is a pre-order if it gets made…or refunded if it doesn't. Quite neat as they can use both the suggestions thread and any subsequent pledge campaign as a popularity contest. In a similar customer survey Italeri recently asked for nominations for new sets and kits on their Facebook page decided by "likes": link As for getting the word around, you may have noticed a certain fan of Zulu figures (and the colonial (IMPERIALIST GREED!) wars period in general) putting himself about all over the place :) HaT and others can only benefit from viral campaigns by customers too. |

Paul – email H and chat to him direct – address is on the site. I believe that the crowdfunding is to push those figures that already exist in a state that moulds can be cut, into production. It's an economics thing. HaT want to make sure that the next new set is supported, in the way that Kickstarter has helped projects reach fruition. This is new territory for H so if people have helpful suggestions it would be good to share them with him via the HaT forum or on his email. He is only rarely on TMP. |

1/72 Civil War artillery with barrel variants ,limbers and caissons . All the ones in plastic are very poor. A real mixed bag in lead. Gun carriages need hardware detail, prolong etc. Buckets? Ramrods ? |
