I'll try this again.
We played our annual Kursk I Ain't Been Shot Mum game recently. This one was based on action east of Ponyri station on July 8. The Germans have captured the former Soviet positions on 226.5 and are just about to be assaulted by the 3rd Tank Corps.
We had several new players to IABSM with the usual issues. The biggest seems to be the inability to get their heads around a 1/300 ground scale.

I love your games Mark.

And your terrain is fantastic.

Very nice indeed. You certainly got some heavy metal on the table. I assume from your comment that you adjust the IABSM groundscale for the 1/300 models? I play it at 1/300 but keep the 15mm distances – it looks much better to me that way, indeed that's how I play most WW2 rules, other than the ones written explicitly for micro-scale.

Dale Hurtt31 Oct 2016 3:06 p.m. PST

The terrain is absolutely astounding.

I do not adjust groundscale. Rules are pretty perfect for 1/300

Mark… tell me about the railroad track! Great looking game. ben

The RR is from Paperterrain. I used it it for this game because the tracks here are not raised and my ones with berms would just look wrong.
Thanks

Great looking game.

Love it. Great terrain. Question regarding the paper RR tracks--how do you get yours to lay flat on the contours of the tabletop? I find that when I use paper tracks, they don't always lay correctly and can't be used for hills or valleys.

Microbiggie01 Nov 2016 7:40 a.m. PST

Like most things you want to lay flat, spray glue works wonders. Paper RR tracks are cheap and disposable so if they can be reused, so much the better.
