Your grenadiers will not want to be seen lined up like this again though. Right of the line for that flank company! Light Bobs on the left……….

Really great paintwork here.

Lovely and clean. Really nice

COL Scott ret31 Oct 2016 7:59 p.m. PST

Those are simply horrible, you should probably just send them to me right off. wink

Really though they are very nice. A worthy addition to your line of battle.

Looks very nice.

I'd try to make them look slightly more dirty/worn myself though…

Mateus01 Nov 2016 3:40 a.m. PST

Thanks, guys.

@Deadhead, I didn't know that. Thanks for the tip!

@Lonkka, I realise they'd rarely look that neat on campaign, but I can't bring myself to paint my napoleonics anything less than parade-clean.

I confort mysef in thinking that at the eve of an important engagement, they usually did try to tidy up as best as they could, to present a good spectacle to the enemy.

Given a 50% chance of getting that sort of thing right….funny how often I have got that wrong.

Grenadiers are a flank company, but place of honour…right of the line

King's Colour right of the battalion colour (even for Guards, except for them their….oh forget it…that gets confusing)

Spongeman right side of the cannon. Loader on the left for any country. Snag comes for the guy firing the cannon……….varied

I am bound to think they would present a horrifying spectacle to the enemy……..at close range

They may line up as they like, so long as they do their duty and roll 6s.

The painting is excellent as always. One little thing is that I think you have over represented the flank companies. The British had ten companies per battalion, one of which was light and another grenadier. Also I would love to see what you could do with the HAT command figures as part of your battalions.

I am with Mateus the uniforms are way to cool to be all messy. After all what would the Sergeant Major say.

I do like a bit of wear on light bobs, and any ACW or later.

Full dress for the vast majority of my troops as well, at least for Napoleonics!
