Banana for scale?!?! I believe you may have won me over…

Ivan DBA31 Oct 2016 6:25 p.m. PST

I don't understand your pledges and rewards. How do you pledge for the tanks in the photos?

What I mean is: The campaign description says there will be five complete tanks (Soviet, German, USA, etc.). But the pledge rewards only offer a large Soviet chassis, and some specialist turrets. Where is the pledge if you just want the standard French tank (for example)?

nli2work31 Oct 2016 7:55 p.m. PST

@Ivan there will be 5 sets of parts. Each set is themed around Soviet, German, etc. But you can use parts from different sets to assemble your own tank. e.g. Soviet Chassis, German legs, French turret. or almost any other combination you want.

But you're right though, I should add some pledges for full kits. Thanks!

Added pledge levels for the follow part sets.

Cool designs but WAY too pricey. Basically $100 USD+ for one tank. I wish you luck but it is a pass for me.

nli2work01 Nov 2016 7:34 a.m. PST

Thanks. You are right regarding cost, but it's the current cost of production on demand unfortunately. There's fairly wide range, upper bound is around 100USD. Can be considerably lower depending on the parts you chose. Maybe in the future I can offer these at lower production costs.

Have you thought about contacting a caster here and getting these guys into metal/resin?

@wminsing yea that's where I wanna look next. If it's cheap enough maybe do these at 28mm.

Design Update: American T66 Tank part 1.

Render shows Mk8 Legs, Mk7 Turret, and Chassis. While the Mk8 leg is certainly inspired by the French design, it is not robust enough to support mass of French chassis and turret.

Backer Reward update #1

Left Advanced Sensors; Right standard that is in the Chassis part.

Combat Engineering Turret. Shown in both stowed and extended positions. Will require fair bit of assembly.

Design work is on track, with one more Turret and Leg option for American and British, that will complete the main 5 sets by end of this week. Total of 25. Additional design work is being done on Backer Reward British Anti-Air Turret, German Artillery Turret, and Soviet super heavy chassis. And a bonus faction is in the early design phases.

This render shows British Chassis Mk5 with Mk 9 Turret and Legs.

Bonus item Option B, backer's choice between this turret or the bonus gun pack for all pledge levels 25+. The US experimented with electromagnetic projectile system near the end of the War. Sometimes referred to as "ducky" by the engineers, the system is a combination of electromagnetic and chemical projectile system where electromagnetic 2nd stage improved the effective range and penetration power over standard recoilless rifle systems. The system performed adequately well, but was too fragile to meet the military's requirements. Only 2 prototypes were built.
