Finally got around to printing the hull to the turret I did a few weeks ago. This is a 1:100 scale printing. I then did a 1:285 scale print. Sprayed both with a green base, then did the camo on the little guy.
Printed with an Ultimaker 2+ .4 nozzle normal quality for the 1:100 and a .25 high quality for the 1:285. link

Looks good. What do you figure the cost is for the 1/285th would be?

Cost in terms of matieral is probably less than a nickel. We use a high quality filament at work that is about $40 USD per kilo. The little guy ways less than a gram. The time investment is about an hour and twenty minutes for the single one. Once I get the kinks worked out I would probably do 6-8 at a time overnight. The larger tank is around 25 grams.

These are looking pretty darn nice, Waco.

looks cool! Which direction was the Z for the print?

They were printed standing up on its rear end. Hull and turret seperate. I used a brim and support.

Nice work!

That is a great demo of the Ultimaker 2+. What was the rear end like as that is where you started from.

What layer thickness did you use?

Waco Joe01 Nov 2016 10:58 a.m. PST

There was a lot of support structure on the rear that had to be cleaned up. That is probably the least detailed part of the tank. I will have to look up the layer thickness when I get home and check my Cura settings. It was the default for .4 nozzle on the 1:100 and for a .25 for the 1:285.
