I'm looking to get back into 28mm painting after a 20 year break. Keen to spend some 1 on 1 time with a professional for a few hours. Does anyone know of someone local to the East Surrey area?

Are you sure? Just paint how you did 20 years ago, it'll be fine! I'm a pro painter but often I see other non pro painters work and wish I could paint like that. I love old school miniatures but find that my style of painting doesn't suit them, so I try to paint like someone else and that doesn't work either. Every painter has their own style which they should develope by practise, practise, practise.
Having said all that there are tricks and techniques which can help. Post some pics of your work or send me some and I'll be happy to help.

Go onto YouTube. Lots of great tutorials there.

Plenty of online resources available these days. The largest change I would say over the last 20 years is in paints, from old humbrol tins to the far easier water-based acrylics. The range and selection of colours has also vastly increased.

Im North East, but would be happy to answer any questions and help out if I could. Here, or my email/blog.
