OK I think I am first in as I happened to be connected as you posted.

You have understated. These are far beyond French Chasseurs…they are the ultimate Napoleonic unit (discuss)

Les Chasseurs a Cheval de la Garde Imperiale. Formidable, Incroyable, I hear you cry!

I never try to show whites in human eyes, but you managed it! Nice one.

That poor eagle bearer knows that his eagle should be back in Paris (so his hand is empty for now), but I give the daftest units an eagle. My Gendarmes d'Elite have three, for a single squadron!

Superb work. Gringos40 will be glad to see their Mameluke once more. Clever to add him.

How good is the photography? The close up of the officer with the troopers. The painting….The highlighting of the blue dolman of the trumpeter…..the red edge to the lace trim throughout.

I'll only add one downer and curse me all you want, as a button counter. The troopers did not rate gold lace (which I think I ma seeing) on uniform or shabraque ornaments….Aurore…. the colour of the dawn. Orange and pink. Vallejo German Orange works for me having seen what is left in museums.

Minor issue. I did my Gendarmes with silver lace by mistake! Never did correct that!

Flashman, I agree. We need one pic here to see what is potentially on offer….a simple link may not get folk onto this sequence of pictures.

Your one shot might.

This is worth a look, people!

We can argue the lace or the red top to the Colpack, but heck, these are good (grin)

Then, after posting, you made me think…why not insert the pictures I refer to ? Think of the magnification involved here…

Imagine what the bloke next to the trumpeter is about to say about the TTS (temporary threshold shift) he has just induced into his left ear by blowing that ….blooming…thing.

looks like he has pinched a horse from your Gendarmes d'Elite!

These are great work. I keep going back to the original pictures as linked above……..do take a look!

Nice. Such bright gold work. I would nit pick and wish the trumpeter on a lighter grey, but these are inspirational. I wish i had more years left as there are so many units I need to paint

Love them

What scale are those.. I mean, they look like 6mm but… ;-)

Personal logo deadhead Supporting Member of TMP30 Oct 2016 2:09 a.m. PST

28mm Perry for the Chasseurs a Chev and Gringos40 for the mameluke and his horse (which is a Gendarme's originally)

6mm?…naw. Perfect Six would have done the eagles on the buttons better in that scale!
