… Deployment. "Faced with an ever-more belligerent and unpredictable Russia, NATO allies are advancing with plans to deploy thousands of troops and military equipment to the Baltics and Poland. In recent weeks alone, Russia has moved battleships toward the Mediterranean and Baltic Seas, shifted nuclear-capable missile-launchers into its Kaliningrad enclave neighboring Poland and continued flying bombers down the western European coast. NATO defense ministers, ending two days of talks in Brussels on Thursday, have been fleshing out contributions to an advance force agreed in July that will be stationed near Russia's borders…" More here link Amicalement Armand |

Yea, saw the "battleships" line on the TV newsfeed as well. Sadly, we've now got a "battleship gap", since our only one is mothballed, and I suspect unserviceable. How did our leaders let this happen??? To the shipyards men, to build more of them, and to put Americans back to work! I think we should use some of that cheap, imported Chinese steel, to beat them at their own game in the South China Sea. Ah, the delicious irony of that! Of course, they'll be useful against a resurgent Russia too. ;-) |

NATO allies are advancing with plans to deploy thousands of troops and military equipment to the Baltics and Poland. Just another move on the Big "Risk" board. It will be a good training opportunity for those NATO forces. |

I think we should use some of that cheap, imported Chinese steel, to beat them at their own game in the South China Sea. Ah, the delicious irony of that! Especially when that steel buckles, cracks or looses structural integrity. |

Aimed to make the Russian populace feel less secure in their Near Abroad no doubt, which would diminish their confidence in Putin's ability to make them feel secure. Putin will then have to respond tit-for-tat, which would be used as proof of his belligerence and justification for further NATO escalation. It's a vicious cycle. |
