Inspired by the Perry bros Cape War Boers I would like to put a big game on with 3-4 players a side recreating the Battle of Boomplatts link Its too big to do 1:1 and would probably be better with 1:10 maybe, 100 British and 70 Boers or twice that at 1:20. Whats a good set of rules that would work for this size of battle? |

The men who would be kings might do it. 100 British would give you about 8-9 12 man units. Great be each player about 3 units. |

Sharp Practice 2 is pitched at that sort of scale. |

Battles for Empire is designed for this size of game and gives all the details of both combatants. |

We like "Fields of Honour". Flexible rules which can be used at several levels, from "sections" up to brigades as the basic fighting unit. Essence of rules can be summarised onto two sides of A4 paper. link
