Okay if you are reading this then you read the title so you know that what follows contains spoilers. According to the fansite Watchers on the Wall this season will include the long awaited first meeting between Dany and Jon Snow; first-image-monumental-meeting-major-game-thrones-characters |

Why do people keep thinking that relations between relatives are problems for Targarians again? |

Generally speaking they're not but remember that Jon was raised in the North as a Stark and Dany wasn't too happy with Viserys advances, Rhaegar married Elia of Dorne but lusted after Lyanna Stark. Of course Aerys was married to his sister but he lusted after Tywin Lannister's wife Joanna (who BTW was a cousin of Tywin's) and may (this is sort of a persistent fan theory) may actually be Tyrion's Father. |

"The dragon has 3 heads." Let's play Game of Thrones Jeopardy. "I'll take Possible Targaryeans for $500 USD, Alex." "Their mothers died giving birth to them." BUZZZZZ "Who are Jon Snow, Danaerys Targaryean and Tyrion Lannister." |

I wouldn't call something like that a major spoiler. A practically guaranteed to happen event that anyone could have guessed spoiler maybe… |

Well since I can't get the link working here is a description of the photos. They show Kit Harrington and Emilia Clarke as their respective characters standing together on some battlements overlooking the sea. The location is in Spain so it would appear as though Jon Snow is headed to warmer climes. This I think is more of the spoiler that, instead of the meeting , and here it's assumed to be the first, will probably take place in Dorne rather than near Winterfell. Now that of course has implications for "The King in the North" as well as a theorized anti-Lannister alliance. Will The King in the North bend his knees, or will Dany accept a semi-independent North? or will Sansa take over as Queen in the North and will we face a war of 3 Queens? The whole world wonders. There is also rumored to be a no doubt very awkward meeting between Jon and Theon Greyjoy, Sansa has forgiven him, will Jon? |

I have also seen a photo of Jon punching out Theon on that same beach. |

I think in part it might be that in the HBO series Jon Snow will take on part of "Aegon's" role from the books. "Aegon" is supposedly Rhaegar and Elia's son who, instead of being killed, actually survived the sack of King's Landing when another baby was substituted for him and he was then smuggled away to the Free Cities where, under the protection of Jon Connington and Illyrio and Varys has been groomed for the throne. In the books Tyrion points out to Aegon (who is supposedly travelling west to join up with and marry Dany) that it would be better if instead of just showing up there he instead invaded Westeros and built up something of a claim. Well Jon has a claim, the North. Now it's also true that many book fan's theories have Aegon as being a fake. Now you would have almost the same familial connection, Dany is Jon's aunt, the difference being that (if he is real) Aegon's claim to the throne is actually better than Dany's, Jon's is not. But if Jon and Dany marry (and after all in the last episode of last season Dany makes it plain that she realizes that she may well have to marry to seal an alliance) you would have Targaryens allied by marriage with Starks (and therefore the north and the Wildings), with Greyjoy faction run by Yara, and Martells and Tyrells by treaty and hatred of the Lannisters and of course with the Dothraki. It should be interesting. |

If Lyanna and Rhaegar legitimized their relationship with a polygamous marriage, Jon has a better claim than Danaerys. If… |

Winston has been saying for many seasons now (I recall the posts…) that Jon Snow, Dany & Tyrion were all related and are the three that will run the kingdom from astride the three dragons. |
Winston Smith | 28 Oct 2016 6:40 p.m. PST |
As I read it…. Legitimate daughter of the Mad King: Danaerys Targaryean Illegitimate son of the Mad King: Tyrion Lannister Illegitimate grandson of the Mad King: Jon Snow Whether or not it's relevant, the mothers of all of them died giving birth to them. Snowites have posited that perhaps Rhaegar and Lyanna were secretly married. Thus Jon might be legitimate grandson of the Mad King. Strictly speaking, Targs not being Franks, Salic Law does not apply. However the male line is generally preferred. The last time Royal heirs were legitimized, things did not work out well. No Grand Bastard ever sat the Iron Throne. Nor a Blackfyre. If bastards become legitimate heirs, Tyrion is the Heir. I would hate to be a lawyer in Westeros. |

It's "Great Bastards" too, btw. Anyway…. For those who like to ponder such things, here's a link to a rather complete discussion of what Jon Snow's real name is. link Have at it. |

Old Aerys got around. If Rhaegar was married to Lyanna then, assuming a preference for the male, Jon has the best claim to the throne, the equivalent claim that Aegon has in the books assuming he is real. Of course the marriage is just a fan theory (which also pertains to the story that Aerys is Tyron's father) and remains to be proved. |
