Here is the latest historical match up have the Tervingi clash with Rome. Their ancestors are better known for their victory over the Imperial army at Adrianople. link Cheers, Robert |

Not exactly the Roman army of yesteryear are they? I noted that you kept 2 units in reserve for the Romans while the Tervingi pretty much attached in a block. Was there a plan for the reserves? Did it not come to fruition because the battles were over so quickly? |

Based on the first engagement the Roman player kept cavalry to seal any breakthroughs made by warband columns. However, the speed in which events unravelled in game one, the cavalry were literally flat-footed. The Tervingi countered the Roman deployment by increasing the frontage of the warband leaving a small number to commit as a supporting second rank at critical points. A warband column in close combat against cavalry is redundant as only the first element fight against mounted while the second element stand by spectators. The Tervingi combination of nobles (3Kn) and warband (4Wb) are very effective. |

Wouldn't the Ostrogoths be the decendents of the Tervingi, not their ancestors? Ah the magic rule of fighting blade armies ROLL 6s! |

Crazyivanov, LOL. You are right. At the time I wrote this all my thoughts are on the next big project which takes place a generation or two after Adrianople. Cheers, |
