Late post as I was traveling, yesterday, was the anniversary of the 1983 car bombings which killed 241 U.S. Marines, Sailors and Soldiers and 55 French Paratroopers. Posted in remembrance. Semper Fidelis.

Six years after the event, I had the misfortune of assisting a gentleman who had to sort through the belongings of one of the Marines who perished in this tragedy. He had been storing the belongings all that time, in the vain hope it was a mistake and the Marine was still alive, and yet to return home.

Yes,sad messed up situation those guys where in. Even sadder and what gets forgotten by us is that Lebanon was at one time a beautiful prosperous land, Beirut was called the Rivera of the Middle East. A country ruled by Christians open to all until the PLO "moved" in and wreaked the place.

I work with a Marine vet who was there and left just a few weeks before the bombing. He's not kind in his sentiments towards Iran and their jihadi puppets in Lebanon.
