I would like to order some of Dutchmogul's 18mm on Thingverse: link The problem is that Thingverse and 3d Hubs seem to have atrocious ordering systems designed by monkeys with hammers. I found a local with the latest Makerbot around 6 months ago…and his test print of a fig failed. He said he couldn't get the level of detail he would like. Dutch Mogul uses a MakerBot Replicator and does just fine. He only sells in sets. I'd like to order a fair amount of figs from different files. All free on Thingverse mind you. So the conundrum is where can I get figs like these printed where they aren't $20 USD each or the cart keeps wrecking ever 5 or so figs I add? The local Library has some Makerbot 5Gs and I am planning on trying that out when possible. Any leads/advice? Someone really needs to hire that guy and produce his figs as a set line (not the board game effort). Ditto goes for Javelin. |

Shapeways operates in the US you could try and get them printed there, just supply the files top them. Not sure about the cost. They would not need to do it in two parts. |

I've been downloading and printing DutchMogul's stuff since I first got a printer a few years back. He has great stuff. You could try just downloading something and taking it to the library you mentioned. That should work fine. Thingiverse was set up for people who own printers to download files for free and try them out. They only added the ability to buy items printed recently, and I've never tried it. Perhaps they should just team with Shapeways and link to that store. |
