SESSION 35C: UTHALIN REACHES TOWARDS THE LIGHT

ROUND 2B – IS THAT YOU CORD?

• Penn roles to see if he stabilises. He needs a DC 10 + his wounds of 3 less 1 for his Con = 12. He rolls a 20 and stabilises. Ghislain roles to see if he stabilises. He needs a DC 10 + his wounds of 7 less 1 for his Con = 16. He rolls a 6 and bleeds out another point.
• Lorah stabs at the orc to his front with his long sword and hits him in the chest for 9pts of damage, killing the beast.
• Asmara Channels Positive Energy healing 3pts back to Uthalin, Penn, Ansic and Ghislain and stopping Ghislain from continuing to bleed. Penn wakes up but is still badly wounded on 0 hit points.
• Thomas attempts to Demoralise the orcs. He needs a DC 10 + 1 for their hit dice -1 for their Wis = 10. He rolls a 7 + 9 for his skill = 16 and Shakes them for 2 rounds.
• Whilst he's unconscious Uthalin starts muttering to himself "Cord is that you? Is that you Cord? I'm coming Cord…."
• Dedrik goes Full Defensive again.
• Halee fires off a shot at the orc to the front of Dedrik and she hits it in the groin dealing 4pts of damage.
• Ansic moves 20ft to the south east and stepping over Ghislains' prone, unconscious body, attacks the orc. He stabs at the monster and critically hits it in the leg, piercing a critical artery. Blood spurts out as the orc takes 20pts of damage. It quickly loses consciousness and dies.
• Risandor steps 10ft to the south and casts Daze against the orc in front of Dedrik. The spell DC is 10 + spell level of 0 + 3 for Ris's Cha = 13. It's a Will Save. The orc rolls a 19 -1 Will save = 18 and easily passes.

ROUND 3A – STUBBORN

• One Shaken token is taken off Dedrik.
• The orcs must take a morale check as they've suffered their first casualty. The roll a 7 on 2d6 and pass their morale of 8.
• The orc opposite Dedrik attacks him with his falchion but he misses.
• The orc opposite Ansic 5ft steps to the west and slashes at the big fighter but also misses.
• The last orc looks frustratingly at the combat, wishing he could be part of it.

Ok, so we have 5 potions of healing, think Uthalin needs 1 or 2 of those. Can I suggest our men at arms facing the sleeping orcs get busy killing them while they slumber.

If they then bring the heads Thomas could demoralize the others again. We still need to watch our backs, but getting in control of this fight, lets just not lose Uthalin…

I think Risandor needs to start inspiring courage then feed Uthalin healing potions. Asmara must be nearly out of positive energy for the day….

Exciting.
The worst thing that could happen now is Ansic goes down and we loose the escape rout or another group of orks come from the West hall.

Ansic is pretty hard to hit, but if he takes another swipe then some quick healing will be needed. I think Ris better reserve his last spell in case more orcs show up so that he can drop another sleep or a grease and contain the new threat. So many openings to our West, we need to be able to control that somehow (noting that Halee is keeping an eye and ear on that direction).

Is it worth healing Ghislain to get him back up and available to block to the West?

Thomas seems well positioned to either replace Ghislain or move to counter new attackers coming from the cave entrance or the West. And let's not forget Asmara, she's rocking some decent equipment and can dish some damage in a fight if she's out of healing…

"Thomas seems well positioned to either replace Ghislain or move to counter new attackers coming from the cave entrance or the West."
We're talking about Thomas here, he's more likely to go down on the first blow than do something useful with a weapon.

Echoco, that made me laugh! Compared to Risandor, he is a gladiator!

Asmara I think can channel 7x a day, so still has a few (3x a day + CHA mod (3)+ Extra Channel Feat), she might already have healing spells and she can spontaneously convert spells into appropriate level healing, lets save the potions for until her resources are slim or she (Serenrae forbid!) gets knocked unconscious herself.

Yep, coup the sleeping guards before they can recover.

Asmara is definitely healer of first resort. Save the potions for now. Someone kill the sleeping orcs. They're a risk otherwise.
