Lovely. One of the most colorful armies ever. Thank you for sharing.

I'm impressed! Thanks, Tango, you beat me to it. I was thinking I might post a link to my newly forged Spanish army this morning and now I don't have to.

Very very nice. I do love the Spanish!

A couple of comments on flags…

Generally speaking, the 1st battalion of a regiment carried the Coronela and other battalions a Sencilla.

It is uncertain whether the Light Infantry carried colours in the field, but if they did it would have been their Coronela (these regiments only had one battalion).

If Line infantry have grenadiers then it is the 1st battalion and would thus carry a Coronela not a Sencilla.

But I am being very picky here, and I have the wrong flags on some of my Spanish units, so I am throwing stones in a greenhouse!

Thanks, Keith.
Yes, I'm certain I've got some of the flags mixed up. I knew about the Coronela and Sencilla and that the first battalion carried the Coronela. But because each of these units are really representing brigades, I wasn't worrying too much. With my line all the units I painted include (too many) grenadiers but I really didn't want to do them all with just the Coronela.
I hadn't thought about the light only having the Coronela (if anything) as they only had one regiment but that is a good point.
You can't see them in the photo but I was pleased to track down the Walloon flag and I gave the Swiss a Reding flag, albeit from 1749! But that is a Sencilla and I have grenadiers carrying it…

When I catch my breath I may revisit some of the flags.

Which is which, may I ask?

Thank-you.

Not clear on the question, Jeff. Do you mean the flags? My understanding is that the the Coronela is the one with the coat of arms over the cross and the Sencilla is just the Burgundy cross.

Great job!!! The Ehmar and Hat sets have been tugging at my heart strings for some time. You did a great job of mixing them along with a sprinkling of 1805 Prussians. Please consider posting on bennos forum since tango posted here for you.

A fantastic army there – really colourful and well presented.

And your comment on the HaT cannons made me laugh. Yes, they are monsters aren't they. I tend to use the Italeri versions but have a load of Zvezda to look forward to.

The cavalry worked really well also.

Thanks for sharing

And a cheeky question. Would you be willing to share your print file for the Spanish flames please?

Many thanks

Marc

Not cheeky at all, Marc. Just send me an e-mail and I will send directly. bslavin@nexicom.net
